OK a little update.
I have now recieved a newer m-740 than my previous SL7SA
pack date 05/28/2005 , batch 7514B588 .
I can now POST at 250mhz FSB , where as before (same mainboard/CT-479/etc) I could'nt post over 235mhz.
So IMHO its the DOTHANS that differ allowing different POST FSB's.

Look at the vcore ;) , stock air :)
I stopped prime95 and it had been running for for 1 hour when I did, this pic is just to show the drop in vcore under load.
I have to do some more testing but I think I will chose 13*200 as my 24/7 setting because of the PAT problem this mobo has. Vcore is set to 1.3v in the bios and drops to about 1.25v. I also tested 1.275v in the bios but this failed to run prime95 at 2600mhz. There is another option between 1.275v and 1.3v that I have to try.
Just to keep the thread alive.
I can't go lower then 1.5 in my bios with a P4C800E-Deluxe Bios 1.23
I wish I have the one which does 2.6GHz stock and with Vcore lowered...
As I said, awesome chip !! That one really needs some decent cooling :)Quote:

Hey Razor Sniper.
I have essentially the same system you do for a server. Can you do me a favor and run a 3dmark 01 for me. I get about 27k. Is that about right for a default install of xp pro and that setup? I would think it would get a little higher, but I have nothing to base it on. My 6800gt overclocks to 412/1150. If I put some cold air on it or upgraded the stock heatsink on either the vc or cpu, I probably could get more out of it. It is supposed to be quiet and it already is too loud for my wifes taste at night. Keep in mind, an overhead ceiling fan is too loud for her as well. I have a panaflo 92 mm and the stock ct-479 cooler in place. Those together are too loud. I have an Antec 350 watt PS that is pretty quiet but it has 2 fans in it as well. I guess I wil buy a Thermaltake Typhoon for it. I just am not sure on the mounting....
I don´t want to open an extra Thread for this.
My Dothan reaches 2.5ghz with the default VCore. And 2.6GHz with 1.42V but if i want to reach 2.7ghz it isnt possible even with 1.6V. Are these resaults good for a Dothan 730 although it doesnt reach 2.7ghz?
Seems about average or even a little above. Mine does the exact same and it is a 740.
My 01 score:Quote:

BTW, my dothan only reaches 2700mhz, but isn't benchable... Think the problem is with the 730's and it with will only go higher with subzero temps. I gained nothing with watercooling...
Anyone here with a P4C800E-Deluxe Rev2 Bios 1.23 and can set a vcore lower then 1.5? If I set auto is takes 1.55
Well what the heck am I doing wrong? I don't even get 27k evenly. I am running 217x12(2604) @ 2,3,3,6 in dual channel mode. When I run in enhanced mode, it still is not very good. I think I am missing soemething major. What are your 6800gt clocks at? Mine are at 410/1120. I am kind ticked off now. 44 mhz should not give you 2500 points in 01. What kind of tweaks are you using? DO you think maybe my drivers are bad? What forceware are you using?
77.77 that run... But it doens't matter much... I have lod set @ 3 and a few windows tweaks, not very special... If I set lod @ 0 my score is 400~500 lower.
Well I have never messed too much with the LOD so I guess that could be part of it. I will have to try tonight for better. I see you are running directx 8 and windows 2000. That is probably good for 1500 by itself.
I'm getting an old PCI card in about 2 hours from now. I hope this fixes some problems with my P4P800 SE and I'm going for 24 secs on stock air this evening if I can run PAT at high fsb with the PCI card.
I hope it does help. I've got prolly the same bad rev P4P800SE as you. Doesn't have locks and PAT with X800 :(Quote:

Stupid Asus not locking AGP frequency when booting at 200mhz fsb. Maybe I'm gonna flash a P4C800-E Deluxe bios in it. If the bios works at this board I guess this fixes the problem.
It would probably max out at 2800 Mhz air cooled anyway. 98% of all Dothans do that.Quote:

Win2k versus winxp = no difference at all.... :(
With the P4C800-E deluxe there is no reason to boot at 200mhz fsb. The 875 should keep PAT enabled when you boot above 200mhz fsb.Quote:

And what about the 865 tweaker beta? Enabling PAT doesn't seem to work so is there going to be a final version EVER with this option working?
