I'd order one, but ZZF has always shipped too slow for my tastes, and I bet by the time it ships I'll have found one for cheaper. Must learn to bide my time, must learn.
Edit: Guess you beat me to it, lol.
Get overnight shipping and it'll be $839
where are the 2gb models?
exactly! Where is the XFX 2GB? Are the 2GB cards released today as well?
I'd get the HIS from ZZF, but they only have a 2 year warranty... XFX's have a double lifetime WTF?!?
but ZZF does have a huge saving on overnight shipping compared to stuff I usually get from the egg... only $17 for two cards shipped.
Lol. I tried telling myself that, but I have a 8800gts 640. It SORELY needs replacing. It overheats and dies every other day. Plus I only have 2 monitors, none above 1080p, So I don't need the extra vram for 2-3 years.
And now that I purchased this, i'll post that it's now activated.

Phew, sold out. My resolve is still solid!
To be honest I'm only buying the 5870 because my 4870 has two problems 512mb gets limiting and the more major one of it being on it's last legs. (As you can see in my sig I already had to revive it once) It also crashes with any OC right now too. I expect stock settings to start giving out in about a month, so that's my absolute maximum.
With that, any XFX cards for 380? :D
I'm really disappointed in the 5870. Sure with 8xAA on it kills the 285 but go back to 4xAA or no AA and it barely beats the 285. In some cases the 285 even beats it. So much for being faster than a 295. Now, at $300 this card would be a decent deal but at $400 I feel it is overpriced. Drivers will help improve the situation but it'd be unrealistic to expect a massive improvement from them.
Time to wait for Nvidia's next offerings..
Which games 285 beats it?

Man I cant believe how well the 5850 did in the TPU review and priced at $259 at Zippy (not in stock btw). Just makes you look really hard at that GTX285 in your rig. But I'am holding out for a 5870x2 or lower prices on the 5870.
I agree. It seems like newer cards are only focusing on the high AA/AF and high resolutions where the face their competitors. It's always nice to have no aa/af and somewhat high res' and see a product still kick ass.
It's just nice that they're now (within the past year or so) getting to the point where high res and high aa/af is actually playable and now with superior frame rates.
Regarding 5870 textures. The 5870 supersample settings resample everything in the scene

Also, it barely beats the 285 in other games like GTA IV and RE5:

Don't get me wrong, it is a nice card. But I was expecting more, something like the jump from the 3xxx series to 4xxx. Certainly see no reason to get one if you already have a GTX275 or higher card, unless you want DX11 support and Eyefinity.
