I've got a Opteron 165 CCB1E 0550VPMW and its awesome!Quote:

If I could get to 2.8, I'd be really happy.
Whats well :)Quote:

What does a good stepping have to do with it? If it would do 3.0@1.5v, I wouldn't care what the stepping was. Some 0530's don't clock great. Clocks are the only thing that counts.:DQuote:

I'm happy with my 165. 24-7 Settings on Air w/ Zalman CNPS9500.
Chip came from NewEgg 0550 UMPW. 13hr Prime large FFT Max temp was 38c.
300*9 for 2700mhz. IHS is on. Voltages are stock.

Just got my 165 0550 UPMW from tankguys.
I have a question.. I'm a long time intel ocer, but this is my first amd oc. Is there a limit to how high I can take the htt? I'm just wondering if I'll be able to max out this cpu with the low 9x multiplier. As long as I drop the htt mult to 3, I can take it over 315, right?
Do you know what your boards max HTT is?Quote:

I was getting 7700/7600 with my 146 @ 10x292, and now I'm getting 7100/7000 with my 170 @ 9x300- both with the memory 1:1.
I would think the DDR600 would score higher in the bandwidth test??
CPU clock speed has a much greater affect on bandwith since the memory controller is on die. So the faster the cpu the more bandwith you will get.:fact:Quote:

I was wondering why my bandwidth scores dropped so much when swapping to the 170. I statrted thinking of reasons and the CPU speed came to mind, but didn't completely make sense to me because the RAM was running DDR600with the 170.
I guess the scores look to be in line.
Opti 165 CCBWE 0550 UPMW, 3Ghz 1.39v. Very nice to find an opti with no cold bug, but the insane heat kills my cooler with more volts.

eldonko, what temps would you expect to get on air with that setup (3ghz @ 1.39v)
3Ghz wouldnt even boot on air. My max with h20 is 2850 and temps were ~38C load. This chip works best at low volts, way too much heat coming from more than 1.45v.
Iam running now mine 0550 Opty 170 UPMW for 1 week 2 days 24/7 full load dual folding 1.48V at 3120MHz temps are around -10 to -9 with mine modded Prometeia Mach I...........

thats pretty amazingQuote:

I've been working with a 165 for a week or so now. From my testing I have to conclude that Core 0 ain't so hot. I can't get the thing to do 2.60 at 1.5v. Core 1 is a champ compared to 0; it seems to have a far higher ceiling...
Has anyone else run into serious disparity between the two cores? Has anyone popped off the IHS and seen a horrid goop job or poor unflat IHS that could cause this?
Right now I'm sticking with 2.50GHz at 1.46v.
Yeah could'nt beleive how these Opteron Dual cores kill my temps under load I get around -1 -3 dual primed heres my first go at 3000 last night going for 3200 tonight anyone have a rough Idea what vcore that will take with a CBWE 0550UPMW.Quote:
