do you guys really notice much real world difference, other than benching, between 1600 and 1800 on the mem? I guess if you can go faster for little $ why not, eh? but I was just wondering..
I'm on a true with a delta afb1212she. I think i need to remount it though. I was able to run prime for 24+hrs at those setting and 25 pass of linx. I upgraded my version of real temp to 2.90 and my max has gone up considerably. I also seem to kind of be at an OC wall at this point, so suggestions would be appreciated.
Here is a screen:

I kind of figured as much... and bragging rights. ;)
in other news I finally got around to doing some more OCing... finally! so far so good but I am only like an hour into my prime..
HT off
200x19 (3800)
qpi 36x
mem 8x (1600)
uncore 3200
vcore = 1.300 in bios (w LLC on)
vdimm = 1.60
qpi = 1.360
cpu pll = 1.80
everything else left alone...
load temps, core0 still always 4c over the rest coming in at 62c max while the others are around 58c... not too shabby.. if this survives the night I might try 4ghz next... turning HT off really helped my temps.. wow! I won't miss it as this is 100% a gaming box...
Hai, i want to Buy X58 , and i have 3 option Gigabyte,or maximus extreme or MSI Eclipse
I have Gigabyte P45 and i hate when use RAID, gigabyte first boot is very slow , meanwhile asus very fast (same ICH 9R ? ) and overcloking ASUS very stable, if failed overcloking, setting BIOS not reset (simple)
Now my question is, gigabyte X58 the best in model dan feature, but how about RAID ,is same with P45?and overcloking stability? can run 3,8Ghz 24/7 perfectly? (No cold Boot )
So i very want to hear from user2 who use gigabyte X58. Are You HAPPY Or Dissapointeed With This Mobo ?
Happy, but I don't use RAID anymore.
Happy, but I don't use RAID anymore.]
=================================================
Why? are because slow first boot like i say or RAID controler this mobo dont stable?
Gigabyte have 10 SATA meanwhile RAMPAGE just 7 , i scare if SSD more cpeap and i use 3x RAID, 2 DVD RW , 2 HD data, no place for SSD....
This is weakness of rampage....
Gigabyte x58 extreme can be No1 the best Of x58 board if this issue can fix (RAID and cold boot)
Hey, the Noctua is working great, cooling is about 1-2c better than my TRUE 120. :yepp: Also looks better, build quality is A+, doesnt get better than this, you get 2 fans, 2 very high quality fans, overall the Noctua is a much better deal, better mounting system as well.
Kill your RAID array? (this thread have 73 page) i can read per page :D
So SATA controler Gigabyte for RAID have weakness?
Thanks for your share yukon trooper :up:, this will make me think twice buy gigabyte.... (to bad.. gigabyte have very good model and feature)
So what your opinion for the most stable and durable motherboard for X58? (beside overcloking/ for workstation) rampage extreme? EVGA X58?
Hi Reverend,
I think you are probably dead right - it is just that I have never done watercooling so am a little unsure about doing it. I was thinking of getting the Swiftech H2O-220 Apex Ultima Watercooling Kit - any good.
Just worried about installing etc as water and electronics don't mix too well Lol.
Would you reckon this kit to be ok?
Mark
The Swiftech kit is great, but the rad is a bit lacking for the i7. They use a low profile(allot slimmer than regular) rad and while it does the job, it could be better. You might want to check the W/C forums here and get help with parting up a killer custom job.
As for first time w/c.....everyone has to pass that hurdle. One tip that I have is read up and ask questions as you're doing it. Having an understanding of the entire process is key :)
Unfortunately Hornet, neither of us were talking about the MCR320.

H2O-220
Now the MCR320 is fine, but it's price according to it's performace...IE not the greatest, and I would take a HL Black Ice EXTREME3-BK rad any day of the weak. Only costs a few bucks more than the MCR320 ;)
