Hmm, I now can get
223*12
240*11
265*10
265*9
270 superpi isnt stable and gives me erros, if I clock back ( clockgen ) every speed gives me errors :S

Razor u must close and open spi again.
Just want to point that the new Intel price cuts put the 740 at the same price of the 730, the typical move the slowly phase out the slowest chip of the family.
Seems like right now in Europe the price for both the cpus is adjusted at 199-203euros.
I've got the CT sitting in my desk, trying to find a solution for the MCX478 mounting (and yep, no dothan yet, prob only in september-october).
Yeah its 200$ usd for 730 and 202$ for 740 at Ewiz.
Just because of crappy mem it isn't very good, but new is on the way:

This is the best I've got so far.
Seems like I have a wall at 2,72ghz with stock cooler :(
1.6v was no different?Quote:

Doesn't really matter how much volt I give it, it won't go over 2,72ghz superpi 1m without freezing. Maybe a better cooling solution?
I could prime for 9h till it froze with 2,7ghz and 1.46v I believe.
How hot are your dothans? And with what cooling? Mine is 35 idle and 47 stress @ 1.6 vcore with water. @ 1.5 vcore it's 31 idle and 41 stress. I think if I could mount it tighter my temps would be better.
you have 15mhz better chip than mine :)Quote:

with 5C water, i could bench at 2.9ghz
with ~11c water and 200w peltier, i could bench at 3ghz, but 3006 would crash :)
so if better means colder, then it would help you..
of course - even better aircooling will increase overall stability at 2.7ghz..
I got the stock air so I got pretty high temps like 60C full load at 1.45v and 49C idle.

is my record :P
Mine is capping out around 2.7 alsoQuote:

Any one that wants a higher overclock: You should try to run without the jumper. I'm going to try this myself soon, I got this tip from some one else.

This would make sense as all the jumpers would do is pull down to ground for LOW state, and HIGH state is just NC>
Just take of the jumpers and youre oc would be better ;)
1 gig of ram will usually do the trick :)Quote:

I'm looking for some good 2x256 for benching only... Anyone knows some? Want 2 spend around 120euro on it.
it is better to post that somewhere else razor... but i think you have to look around in the memmory forum you will know what mem is good for u.
How much is 120euros in usd? Cause I got 2x512 mushy 3500 black (no heatspreaders) that do DDR500 @ 3.1V, DDR560 @ 3.5V. They are currently jst sitting in a box of kingston value doimg nothin'Quote:
