Yep, i did both of them.
My question now is, do you move before or when you already star to bench.
Thanks for the answer :).

Is anyone running a W3530 on the classi?
I'm thinking of buying one to play with. :yepp:
too_chile
it shouldn't matter, i forgot to do it a few times before starting and as soon i moved the jumper the board stopped putting out FF
does anyone know what the A7 error means? i keep getting it on a e760 classy and no idea on what it is., only does it when i try to boot over 3.5....
Do the disable PCIe slot jumpers actually work? I installed a new videocard today but can't take my old one out of the case since it is in my water cooling loop. So I just moveed it up a slot, then was just going to disable it. However it started howling like a banshee when I powered on the machine since I had the had the PCIe power cables disconnected. I was under the impression that the whole PCIe slot would get disabled.
Don't think so.. they could fix that with a simple bios microcode update
Anyway, I just did this mod to my E760 (only the one in the 1st graph, doing the one in the 2nd graph caused my mobo to not power on - but then again, my mobo's layout looked slightly different from Sham's diagram there) and, it works - X5680 B1 running just fine :)

Only thing not working is Turbo (26x mult)
Oh well. Using latest Bios 51.
So does this look respectable to you guys? I can't get 4.2 and up stable on this chip lol...ANything i should maybe up or adjust? Intel Speedstep is disabled and the C states are disabled as well.. i have been ocing for a bit and im still not sure of everything 100% .. Sorry for big pic lol

Looks fine. I had a 940 C0 back when they came out, and I ran 4,3Ghz on phase change at around 1,5V or so. Killed the CPU with high VTT after 3 weeks or so tho :wasntme:
LOL well i have been running 4.08 ghz for about 2 weeks and i did a couple changes just before to hit 4.1 stable. I kind of regret this chip and should of had a 920 instead lol i see people running 4.5 stable. I see people talking about adjusting the QPI ? what does that do if it even does anything? ALso if anyone here knows how to read mem timings i have a pic of what my mem is running and i want to be sure the timing is right if anyone could help me out please. Thanks
I suspect that the folks running 4.5GHz are using the current D0 stepping 920s. Your older C0/C1 stepping cpu is not likely to keep up with them. Sorry for the bad news...
The D0 stepping has 200-300MHz of additional overclocking headroom in my experience. The actual range may be larger than I have experienced...
Ya i know i was broken the news already lol.. But honestly i am happy with the performance and couldnt ask for more.. I want to get my hands on a nice 6core , they have some really nice temps @ low V and clock nicely
Here is a pic of my memory timings, why are they in this order? In BIOS everything is on AUTO for memory.. SHouldnt i be runing 9 9 9 24 ?i want 1866 out of it .

When i try and run the XMP settings 9 9 9 24 48 my comp froze up @ the windows start spalsh page... Maybe i needed to put it on CR 2t? i dont understand this too well? what should i tweak or change out to get the XMP settings to run properly?

Does anybody know if the EVGA X58 Classified 760 supports a Westemere X5677?
Yes, if you follow Shamino's post:
http://kingpincooling.com/forum/show...08&postcount=1
Rev. 1.1 should do w/out mods, 1.0 has to be modded with a 2 smd mod.
hmm been telling ppl all this while for the last two bios on high dram clock
the rtl channel b and c is too tight and so is the tfaw.
so until that happy bsoding.
Aedubber, have you read the thread about all the overclocking tips & getting FSB above 220 mhz? That thread informs you of all the math & numbers that the controllers & etc like to be within (range)
After reading that and making an excel file for calculating things, I have arrived at 4.3ghz @216 fsb; going to push further, but just waiting for time to do so now.
I have problem with EVGA Classified E760. When I start the motherboard it does not beep and on the motherboard writes F3 F6 (68 or b8). The monitor does not show any picture. Can please anyone help me?
In wich slot? Red or black?
I am having the same problem on my first bootup in the morning Reset and it works great.
