hey radaja
didn't realize you had so many boards.:fact:
I have a UD3R rev 1.0 I'm looking to sell so I can fund the purchase of a Q9550 or Q9650.
someone tested the F11c in UD3P ?
here, still use F10

Hello, you tell me any shop which sell the UD3P? and if it can be sent to Spain.
A greeting.
dont think shops carry them anymore.you have to buy used.
i will be selling a couple UD3P's soon.
Does anybody have 550+ stable fsb with quad?
could some one who has successfully done 560fsb+ using a c2d
post the settings used.i can get 560fsb prime95 blend 2hrs stable
but anything above just wont prime for more than 30m.this is with
two UD3R's and one UD3P,they all seem to crap out at 560fsb.
so im wondering if there is some kind of setting im missing that needs
to be adjusted after 560fsb,thanks
:up:Nice work! Can't help ya there, but I would love to see your 560fsb settings. Hell, I'm having trouble getting my E8500 and EP45C-UD3R to even boot at 8x500fsb. Driving me crazy:mad: So I'm stuck at 9.5x400 for now.
heres the 560fsb setting, this works for all three boards using the same ram and cpu.

Have you tried to add some skew like 0, 50 or 50, 50?
not yet,but NoGuru told me the same thing at ocn,so today im going
to play with the cpu and mch skews and also the dimm skews.
still curious as to what vtt and v NB people needed for 600 fsb?
@radaja...Thanks!
no problem:up:
managed 572fsb.this 1.0 board seems to be very nice.
apparently this board doesnt suffer the same problem
the other boards did.
this is without any tweaking yet.just the basic voltages.
maybe this will be 600fsb type of MB:D
settings are the same except for vtt is set to 1.36v
and vNB at 1.42v(also i had mch ref wrong in template)
should be 0.788v
also made a video of the actual bios and boot up for this run
its a little fuzzy but you can still see all the setting in it.

Jeebus. That has got to be the most performance you can squeeze out of a C2D at 4.0Ghz for 24/7 stable :D Nice!
Thanks for posting those settings Radaja. I think once I move home and get my dedicated room sorted, I'll be tempted to try an E8500 on my USB3P. I got over 600 fsb with it on an MIIF (I think I hit something like 617) so it's not out of sight - just a shame mine needs lots of volts for anything above 4.1-4.2. Stability at 572 seems like a nice indicator that the same is possible on this board, hopefully the DDR3 will be up to the same. Skews definitely played a part on the MIIF so I'm sure you'll go further when you aim higher - well done. I can only hope for results like that!
Looking at buying a Q9650 with a VID of 1.200....will I need a water setup for 4 GHz (8x500fsb)?
ok, well Sergio helped me on some settings with my USB3P and this high VID Q6600..... but i thought i would post my info here and see if there is anyone with some good info to get this stable.
then i have it currently set to this...Quote:

i can boot into windows and open memset, cpuz, et6 and everything is fine. Prime fails and freezes solid in .5 seconds.
If i try SuperPi 1M it makes it to the 4th loop and freezes then reboots.
With these settings i am not seeing BSOD just freezes and reboots.
The goal with this........... 42xx.x
Oh and a strange thing.... with these exact settings XP won't even load, if i drop FSB to 442 i can get into XP and run Wprime and SuperPi 1M
In Vista it loads and can move around inside windows i just cant stress it because it freezes instantly.

For anyone that may be interested I updated my bios from the F9 to the F10 on a EP45-UD3P Rev.1.0 and started having that boot loop issue tried clearing the bios and loading optimized default setting still wouldn't post just keep looping so i took a shot and loaded the F11C Beta Bios That instantly solved the boot problem even seems to boot much quicker and load windows faster
Here's the link to the F11C bios I used

Dont worry Sergio, you would only be a ":banana::banana::banana::banana:" if you ran your i7 on LN2. I know you will find max oc using a 24/7 cooling solution.
You have done a lot for this thread along with quite a few others, and have always been there to help people when they needed it. This has been a great thread with a lot of good people posting that have been more than willing to help, something I havent seen in many other threads.
Can someone post a Bios Temp-let for a Q8400 on a EP45-UD3P Rev.1.0 that could help get me at 4.0mhz I'm running 4 1gig sticks of Micron 555-12 rated at 667 Dram Volt 18000 Cooler Master hyper 212
Sergio is one of the biggest assets to this thread. You may be gone, but not forgotten. R.I.P. my friend.
i dont have a bios template mate but i can give you some tips...btw you know you have a killer mobo ? rev 1.0 can reach amazing clocks

Hi I have this set up, just purchased recently, curious about a few things, ill post specs first, then what i've noticed, then my question(s)... Thanks
E8400 E0 4.264 (533 Fsb x 8) Keeps my 1066 ram times. 1.350v (could go lower?) Runs stable in prime 1Hr, and everything works ok!
EP45-UD3R Motherboard
OCZ Reaper 2x2Gb 1066
OCZ Vertex 30Gb
XFX 5670 (512Mb Non Crossfire ability)
BFG 800+ Watt 4x12v 18A? Rails?
What I've noticed, at 3.6Ghz I could under-volt fine, and run SUPER PI pretty quick, at 4Ghz Even faster! (10-12 Seconds on 1m)
Now.. 4.264Ghz with 1066 ram, lowered timings even, benches higher, but!!!...
With 1Minute + on 1m test? That's getting stupid, how did I go down on PI calculations vs my 3.6Ghz? And such a LARGE variation as-well!
I can Photobucket my Bios screens ....

put 1,2VTT and .785 on CPU REF and .80 on MCH REF then UP VTT leaving the values change auto to 1,3VTT
Skews set 900/900/0/50
MCH set to 1,3+ at least
PLL 1,5
check that you have 400x8 not 400x9
also radaja is right you dont have memory with XMP (xtreme mem profile) just put that on AUTO or disable it
cheers :toast:
Sergio
I don't want to sound like a retarded noob but can someone clarify what those above setting mean exactly
VTT = CPU Termination ? yes ? coz theres is no VTT in the ud3p bios
Then your saying up VTT to 1.3 leaving the other values to change automatic ?
not really clear to me is that what your saying ? sorry
then MCH set to 1,3+ at least which MCH ? core ,reference , or dram ref ?
Skews set 900/900/0/50 what exactly are the Skews ?
Can someone straighten me out so i can try these setting please

In case anyone else is looking for a Q9550... MicroCenter has some in stock at the Fairfax, Twin Cities, and Detroit stores.
To bad I live in Ohio:(
just bought this board from radaja at OCN. I would like to prepare early :). Could anyone share their settings for q9650?
Will I need to get this ram? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231271
I currently use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146785
no need to put those bad attributes on you mate we where all noobs at the begginings...
VTT = CPU Termination ? yes ? coz theres is no VTT in the ud3p bios
* VTT = CPU TERMINATION correct
Then your saying up VTT to 1.3 leaving the other values to change automatic ?
not really clear to me is that what your saying ? sorry
* you go to bios and set manually VTT to 1.2 and set CPU REF on 0.785 and MCH ref on 0.80 then you just move VTT to your desired value lets say 1.3 and you will see the values of REFS you put change auto...leave them
then MCH set to 1,3+ at least which MCH ? core ,reference , or dram ref ?
* MCH volts sorry yes to 1.3 and will need more till 1.42 depending on your amount of ram and tight timmings and FSB
Skews set 900/900/0/50 what exactly are the Skews ?
* you can find them on ADVANCED CLOCK CONTROL it will help a lot with OC
cheers
Sergio
yes the g.skill pc9600 Pi's are better.there are lots of great templates in this thread you just need
to read through it.a lot of Q9650 users posted templates for new guys to get a handle on their new cpu's
WOW that is cheap! I live 20 minutes from the Detroit store.
Just in case this is still a problem for anyone, two guys at OCN found the fix for the missing CPU-Z info on the mainboard tab. Turn off quick boot in the BIOS and the info will then be displayed in CPU-Z.
Whut.......... andressergio has left Q9xxx/p45 ?

PS: Gigabyte, srsly, officially update the USB3P BIOS before more people split, kthnx.
Hello , ive been a long time reader and member at XS but never post :(
I havent updated the bios on my UD3P since i got it couple months back. What Bios version is everyone finding to be the best overclocker ?
Its hard to believe that this thread is still so active! It's a testament to how good this board is :)
I am still chugging along at 525x8 for almost 2 years of 24/7 use! I look at my first post in this thread right after the OP's back in Oct of 2008 and can't believe how time flies!
Anyway I can report good things about beta bios F11c. It's the first bios I have liked since F5a. My endless reboot issues when my external USB HD is connected is fixed, my OC is as stable as before.Quote:

wow zodden, you haven't posted for quite some time.
its because of you i was able to get my first 500fsb stable OC
you were the first one to point out the mch ref setting in the
beginning of the thread, and for that i thank you:up:
i also like to point out,the 0.700vET6/0.750vbios MCH ref setting
has worked on all my 9-10 boards using dual core except for one:D
and my q9650's all loved 0.785/cpu ref and 0.800v/mch ref 100%
again thanks:D
Welcome! I remember that week. It was frustrating and I was benching almost 24/7 for that whole week I was off from work. I am glad I solved it though for myself and for everybody else. Somebody would have figured it out eventually :)
I am thinking of looking for a used 9650 for a quick bang for your buck upgrade. I was also reading on HardOCP that x8 x8 for crossfire showed no testing difference then x16 x16 in a recent article. On this board if you run 2 vid cards it runs both in x8- So I might get a used 9650, a copy of windows 7 and when the 6 series comes out from ATI, some new vid cards for gaming. That seems like a pretty painless and less expensive upgrade path for now :)
(from another forum) -->
""Gigabyte kindly supplied me with new beta BIOS versions for X58A-UD7 and P55-UD6 for us to test...im passing this bios to you to test as a beta, no support at this time from GBT BUT it was tested by them to cure the SMART issue.
If this bios tests out OK GBT will add this fix to their whole range of boards...""
""the BIOS SMART command error is present with my Vertex 2 LE, Firmware 1.11 and GigaByte GA-EP45T-USB3P. SATA is set to AHCI mode""
Guess I'll have to check the beta-bios 2010 .de "site" way more often now : http://oldforum.gigabyte.de/forumdow...tabios2010.htm

http://i54.tinypic.com/zkrj48.jpg
It was prime95 stable @4.0 for months, but it crashed a few times when I tried to install XP Pro to triple boot with Win7/Linux Mint KDE-
The problem was XP didn't like AHCI enabled-
Afterwards, I started getting dropped internet connections, corrupt backups, and computer freezes/lockups-
So, I decided to re-flash the bios and start over-
Here's what I have so far-
Thanks-

If you search this thread (look for posts from late October 2008) you will find my bios config. Look on page 2 of this thread-midway down you will see all my settings.
I haven't changed it at all since then, except to flash to various other bios-none of which I liked till recently.
