Hello everyone,
Not sure whre to post this.
I want to mod[update] the Raid and Ahci(don't know if there are separated) of my Abit IP35 PRO motherboard.
I have the latest official bios for my MB, and that is BIOS 17. I want to update the RAID(and AHCI?) from version 7.5.0.1017 to the latest version available on INTEL site: v8.6.0.1007.
The info related to this BIOS from INTEL is HERE.
My problem is i can't extract de RAID ROM from INTEL bios(.bio file).
Hope that someone here can help me, maybe post the moded bios directly.
Thanx in advance.
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
After you reset the bios and get in you need to do the following:
Change the IDE delay time from 0 -> 5 seconds or more
Next time you want to enter the BIOS only press the DEL key after you see the memory speed displayed in the post screen and you will be in....
I have Vcore = 1.32, Vtt=1.30 and Vmch = 1.37 set in bios...Is this ok for 24/7 with watercooling?
I was surprised by IP35 Pro overclocking abilities with quad cpu...
@Discoboy
The IDE delay thing didn't work for me...
i have the same problem with raid enable and usb keyboard :p no bios
have anyone tested max fsb on quads ? mine goes up to 480 Mhz then no more :/
I have plugged the keyboard in to PS2 port and it's working.
Nice thread. Can anyone tell me whether the PRO has 6 fan headers which can also control fans?
I managed to get the QX9770 running with the IP35 PRO but it is impossible to get into the BIOS (can anyone help).. To change anything in the BIOS not in the uGURU options I have to swap back to my E6600 and boot, then replace the E6600 with the QX9770.
Currently running 100% stable @ 333 MHz FSB, memory divider of 5/6 and a multiplier of 10.5. (3.5 GHz). Soon I'll push for some more but if I crash the system there is a good chance I will have to swap back to the E6600 to recover the system- something I don't want to do.
Anyone experience the same thing as me?
I am using an E1200(Lend from friend, damm local retail shop for E8600 availability:down:)
I set 400x8 in bios,posted@400x8,window show 200x8 and my pi time is what to expect from 200x8 so any idea???
Bios is rebels heaven 18 modded

had a little drama at the Corsair Thread...maybe someone here had the same situation....
advance thanks, I see some familiar names here
Got this RAM: G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PK PC2-6400 (2x2GB) CAS4, my supplier was running it at 546mhz, 2.3v, 5-5-5-15, trfc 52, pl 7 but he was using rampage formula. On my ip35-pro I can't get stable 540mhz, 2.3 5-5-5-15, trfc 52, pl 8.
Now I'm trying to volt up my MCH and see if it changes anything, if won't help will try to set ddr2 ref +2% and if it doesn't help will try to set tras to 18.
What you guys think - is it possible to clock this ram on ip35-pro as he clocked it on rampage formula?
hi everyone..
i'm having problems with abit ip35 pro offlimits and i hope you guys can help me out.
i'll start with my first problem..my mobo comes with bios version 11 and for some reason when i try to update the bios to the latest official version 17 using the flash menu utility that comes with the mobo i get this error "this file dosen't support BIOS LOCK function"
then it refuses to updated.
the 2nd problem is one of the reasons that made me want to update the bios..the problem is that the mobo dose a police siren like sound randomly when playing some games or when using windows in safe mode..surprisingly this sound stops immediately when i run abitEQ utility and never happens if abitEQ is running even if i'm playing
3rd problem is that i have the dual boot up bug when the mobo boots then shuts down and reboots again on it's own at the start.
4th problem is that abit Uguru isn't showing me any status when running it..the standalone abitEQ works fine tho
here are my specs along side the mobo
intel core2duo E6650 2.33
sapphire hd4870 1gb graphic card
2 king stone ramsticks 2gb each
epsilon 700watt psu
i'd really appreciate the help
btw i had an a 8800gts 320 graphic card before i switched to this new one and i had a 500 watt psu with only 4 bin cpu power connector before this one..the sound never accrued back then but now this sound thin appeared out of no where..
i have a question about my cpu..is it fully supported by this mobo? cus i get some hitching while laying games even when the graphics are on the low setting..something like a stable hitching that always happens in some games like bioshock and tomb raider legend.
Never try to update your bios under windows, mostly it won't flash your bios or will fail at flashing.
As far as I remember new bios should fix 2nd and 3rd problem.
About uGuru try to update to newest version and yes your CPU is fully supported by this mobo.
ok so what should i do? i don't have a floopy but i heared that the bios can be updated from a flash drive..is that right?
i have some questions.
can the bios be updated from a dvd rw like booting by making the system boot from cd?
would it refuse the file like it did in windows?
i got the bios file from here.
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/mi/downl...ET_TYPE=LGA775
You can burn a bootable CD with bios files too same as you can use pendrive.
In DOS it can refuse to update only if you have wrong files.
ok i'll try that out..also can you explain how to make a bootable cd with bios on it?
ok just tested the latest uguru on both vista and xp and it still dosen't read anything...what's the problem?
hi all, i'm looking for the latest chipset drivers off the intel website for the ip35-pro, but i haven't got a clue which one to get, its for vista x64.
can anyone help?

v 9.0.0.1007 doesn't seem to be the latest version? or is it?
hey guys i was wondering do i really need the bios updates? i don't want to risk killing the mobo or something like that.
also i have another question..can the mobo cause my cpu to get high temps and overheat? and if so is the bios update needed to fix this?
hey guys i managed to update the bios and all went fine but i got a major problem after this..now the colors are messed up and everything seems to have more green in it even before going into windows the colors are not normal at all
Might have to re-install video drivers, etc.
hey everyone, please bare with me as i am starting out with OCing and i have digested as many guides i could.
i have a intel c2d e6320 (1.8ghz) which is currently at an overlock speed of 2.8ghz. my ram is 4gb (4x1) crucial tracer ballistix 800mhz. i have the abit ip35 pro and an antec 400w psu.
i cant seem to OC past 1.8ghz due to my ram. there doesnt seem to be an unlink option and at 1:1 ratio setting for the ram speed anything over 900mhz and i fail prime95 tests . am i stuck to cpu speeds at which my ram speed is at 800mhz? or is this were upping the voltages come into play? it doesnt seem like it helps when i up the voltage for the ram. ive notched it to 2.2v for the ram and its still doesn past the tests.
-thank you. albert.
What timings are you using on your RAM? If 4-4-4-12'ish, loosen it to 5-5-5-15. Should get you some more room to play. Unfortunately the P35 chipset (nor any recent intel chipset) doesn't allow CPU : DRAM ratios < 1:1. Don't forget to raise your MCH voltage to help it cope with the extra strain of four sticks. If it's not your RAM, that's likely the culprit.
my timings are at 5's. they are currently auto detect. should i remove two of my ram? i wouldnt mind sticking with 2gb for faster clockspeed. ill try raising the MCH.
side question: how do i check the driver version for realtek and intel chip drivers? through control panel and hardware?
Removing two sticks won't necessarily increase your clockspeed, but it will take some of the strain off of your MCH. Also, take the timings off auto and change the fifth timing (tRFC if memory serves) to 52. That might help you a little bit.
To check driver versions, go to device manager, double-click on the device in question and click the driver tab.
I need some assistance =(
I had been running my E3110 @ 500x8 for months with 4gigs (2x2gigs) of Mushkin with no issues.
Yesterday I added another 4gigs of mushkin so now 4x2gigs.
500x8 wouldn't happen and after it locking up, all my voltages reverted back to stock.
I've been toying with 450x9 but still getting random reboots...was hoping someone could lend a hand with some optimal voltages since mine are all gone.
TIA
what is your ram set to? i had the same problem with mine. when i went from 4gigs to 8gigs . i had to change the ram from 1:1.25(1060) to 1:1.00(848) with fsb@424 x9
anything higher it would either not boot or blue screen in windows. and it did not matter which OS i was on, which is now XP pro 32bit sp3 and vista ultimate 64bit sp1 .
after that ram change settting all has been fine with any of my OC settings i use.
Maybe I missed it, but are there any major differences in the Pro and Pro XE models?
I noticed they have different BIOS's on Abit's site... so I'm assuming I can't use any of the ones from the Pro
I just picked up an XE to replace a failing DFI Board and am trying to figure out how much of the info in this thread is relevant
Does anyone other than me is experiencing problems with reading MCH temp? In all apps MCH temp is locked at 36*C but for sure it isn't right temp, for me it has around ~40-50*C.
Hi guys. I just bought an LG GH22NS30 Sata DVD drive. I already have 2 IDE drives running fine. I added a SAta drive to the wife's computer with no trouble. But when I hook this one up on mine, it sees the drive and the device manager says it's working fine but it won't read CD's or DVD's. It keeps saying to put in a disc.
I've talked to LG about it and they said to try different Sata ports and different cables, which I've already done to no effect. They the guy said to update the Sata driver for the motherboard. I dloaded the one from the Abit website but it seems to be some sort of Raid setup file. I'm not running a Raid configuration.
Any ideas? My system is this motherboard, an Intel E6750 processor, 2X2G Ballistix PC6400 ram, Raptor 150 hard drive, Zalman ZM600 p/s. I flashed the mobo bios in the spring with the latest (at that time) version. I'm about to try the new drive in my wife's computer to verify that it's good, but in the meantime I'd enjoy some more suggestions before I have to RMA the drive. Or just stick it in my wife's computer if it works there and give her 4 drives...lol.
does the abit p35 pro has a PCI Express x16 that is 1.0 or 2.0 slot?
im guessing our mobo is 1.0 since it doesnt say "2.0" next to the specs i am finding. what does this mean? we are limited in our choices of our graphics card or we can install 2.0 graphics cards but they will be handicapped?
Hi, I have a QX9770 and am using it on the IP-35 PRO (Not XE) board. This is extremely tricky as I have to replace the QX9770 with my old E6700 when I want to enter the BIOS. Is it possible to flash the IP35 PRO with the XE BIOS? I have seen comments here -
http://en.thethirdmedia.com/Article/...7811c17p1.html
which indicates that it is possible...
It would be great to be able to change the multplier etc...
Thanks for your help!
It's possible; you just need to use the switches to force-flash it. I can't recall them right now and our beloved forums went the way of the dodo, which is where I would search. If you don't find it in the next couple hours, PM me to remind me and I'll ask a guy that would know this evening.
Take note there will be options available (such as CPU : DRAM ratios) that simply won't work for you, but since you flashed the XE BIOS, they'll be there. No big deal, just don't get too excited there are more options. Chances are, they won't work.
Ok, my esteemed colleague (Lvcoyote) came through. Add these switches to the regular ones in abitfae.bat: /QI /WB /F
Has anyone allready figured good way to cool down PWM?
Is it better get water block, or modify case and install another heatsink backside of board?
If anyone has some good BIOS settings for a Q9650 OC on this board I'd love to see it. The best I can get is about 1.37vcore for 472x8.5=4.1ghz.
Running BIOS 17.
edit: nvm, not stable
I have the following specs:
Armor 8000/Zalman 600W/Abit IP35Pro/Quad 6600(OC'd @3G)/4G OCZ DDR2 800/Sapphire ATI 4850 1G(8.12)/X-Fi Xtreme Music/160WD S2/2x500 WD S2(RAID 0)/Many e-SATA drives/Pioneer 216DBK/LiteOn iHAS120/Vista Business SP1 64bit/Avid Media Composer 3.1.2 Suite/2xEIZO 17'' Monitors/M-Audio AV30 Speakers/Canon HV30.
I want to upgrade my RAM to 8G but I don't know if it's better to buy 1066 or 800 DDRII memory. OCZ I have now runs very stable with CPU overclocked @3.15 with the stock cooler. Because this is an editing machine I need the stable to go on and keep on having my CPU @3G at least.
I have seen those:
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Edition and I can buy 2x 2x2G sticks. Would this be ok?
OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB DDR2-800 Ram Kit. Or better this one?
The price difference is very small.
Thanks to all.
Has anyone seen information on Abit's willingness to continue updating bioses, now that they've stopped making any more motherboards?
Also: has anyone attempted updating the storage controller firmwares (Intel Matrix Storage and JMicron) inside of the IP35-Pro motherboard bios?
See: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/sho...p?t=961&page=5
I always had great luck with G.Skill memory and the IP35 Pro, I had G.SKills at both speeds your talking about, and they worked great.
At this point, seeing how they are going COMPLETELY out of business, I think what you have available now is about all your ever going to get.
I got those Corsairs XMS2.
Corsair.
Installed in some seconds and running great. IP35Pro loves them.
I just put together an Abit IP35 Pro XE board w/ a Q9650. Little problem is the Q9650 is unsupported on this board. Everything works and works well, but the cpu temperatures were reported as a steady 103*C. Coretemp reported ~41*C and went up and down depending on load. I emailed Abit about my problem.
Abit replied the Q9650 is unsupported.
I replied it works terrific in the IP35 Pro XE except for reporting cpu temperatures...
Abit TODAY gave me a beta bios (dated 09/25/08) for the IP35 Pro XE-E0-Q9650 temperature issue I had.
The bios Abit sent corrected the displayed temperature problem I had, and I am still running 9x450 happily!
yea,the beta bios(09/25/2008) corrects the temperature read issue,i think previous releases didnt "support" the e0 revision as somebody stated earlier.
when full load my Q9650 runs at 1.25v, when idle its 1.31v
-the vdroop is about the same i was getting earlier on my 6750 which was running at 3.6ghz/1.36v when full load.
i settled for 3906mhz(9x434) since 4ghz was giving me 88 degrees celsius when full load and needed 1.28v,now the max temperature ive seen is 72 degrees(room temp around 24) but summer is still to come...
my system at idle draws total of 124watts,when full cpu load (folding SETI,QMC,Rosetta etc...) it draws around 220 watts.
funny thing is when playing TeamFortress2 which only utilizes only 1 core i get around the same wattage usage-220w...:D
I successully flashed the BIOS but unfortunately the new BIOS hasn't made much of a difference to me. My QX9770 runs OK, as it did before (with no access to the BIOS), BUT the only thing that seems to have changed is that the board is now more stable running my 4X1GB Ballistix Tracers.. I still need to swap out the QX for my old E6600 to get into the BIOS though.
So I'm now running 380 FSB with 10.5 multiplier (that is fixed, I can't get to the BIOS to change it!) for about 4GHz. Ram is at 1:1.2. Everything seems pretty stable. I would go for more but i'm getting to 70C temperatures under 100% load.
Can't you access the bios via uguru in windows and change the clocks there...?
I got the Abit IP35 Pro XE with an E6400 Core 2 Duo.
I started tinkering with the settings and managed to take my cpu from 2.13ghz to 3.2ghz and then to 3.5ghz and all was running well.
Anyway, I updated the bios, and as such had to reset the overclock configuration as I hadn't saved a profile.
But I now cannot get above 2.8ghz overclocked.
I have downgraded my BIOS and honestly tried all the setting under the sun including voltages, multipliers, CPU:RAM ratios, Ram timings, Northbridge Voltages and so on, but I cannot, no matter what I do, take it above 2.8ghz
Does anyone have any ideas? PLEASE!!??
Specs:
Abit IP35 Pro XE
Intel E6400 2.13ghz Core 2 Duo
4x1 GEIL Black dragon, 1066mhz DDR2
Noctua NH-U9B Cooler
8800GTS 320mb
Anybody know what I can do to get it back to 3.2?
Thankyou in advance!
Can't somebody try to fix the bug where you can't get into the BIOS without using a PS/2 keyboard or resetting the CMOS?
I recently installed windows 7 beta and I was looking around for drivers. Most of the links are bad on this site now.
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/downl...ET_TYPE=LGA775
This still works but its missing the network driver. I am looking for the 64 bit versions. To be honest I would suggest everyone gets a solid copy of the drivers I dont know how long they will be available for download. If anyone else has some good links they would be much appreciated.
Tim
QUOTE=Ligushka;3654981]Can't somebody try to fix the bug where you can't get into the BIOS without using a PS/2 keyboard or resetting the CMOS?[/QUOTE]
Set the IDE delay to 1 , 2 or 5. I forget what I have mine set to ,I think it may be 1. Experiment to see if it will work for you.
2 or 3 is fine with lower than 2 it wont work :)
i used to have the same issue with the razer reclusa
You can download the latest ethernet driver here and the latest onboard audio driver here as well.
Next time I reset the CMOS I will experiment with the IDE delay setting. But even so, couldn't somebody attempt to fix it so we wouldn't need to futz around with some setting just so that we can enter the BIOS using a USB keyboard?
I still can't get my q6600 g0 3.6 prime stable. It bsods after about 25 minutes.
My idle temps with a true 120 black are around 33c and load about 55c tops.
Any idea? If not possible with my chip think i can get a 3.4 stable? With what voltage?
http://i44.tinypic.com/zvaio8.jpg
Mine doesn't like 3.6ghz... it sits at 3.52ghz at 1.52Vcore, 1.46 after vdroop.
So any idea anyone?
You could try a bump in CPU VTT. Not all G0 Q6600's will do 3.6, but your close if it will run 25 mins of Prime. Next time you run Prime, set it to run Small FFT's which test mostly CPU, that way if your CPU is not stable you do not have to sit through all the large FFT tests, which mostly test memory. Speaking of memory, what speed to you have it running at??
Running at 960. I increased ichio to 1.65 and vtt to 1.31. It's been priming for 3 hours now.
On small FFT's??
Wow this thread still alive and kickin'...who wants to buy my IP35 Pro? PM me :D
HY GUYS. Can you help in drivers?
At the first post, there are a lot of driver for things. but they are really old. Maybe sbody have to collect the drivers again. the new drivers:D:D
Intel Matrix Storage Manager 8.70.1007 1/9/2009 Multi-Language
Intel Chipset Software v9.0.0.1008 6/2/2008
JMicron SATA driver v.1.17.46 WHQL
Realtek 8110SC Vista driver v6.216 2009/2/05 (pick which OS you want it for)
Realtek HD Audio driver v2.16 for XP/2000
Realtek HD Audio Driver v2.16 for Vista/Vista64
uGuru 3.109
Does the IP35 Pro have port multipliers on the esata ports?
I have tried installing the 3.109 uguru but when I look in the about (maybe I am not looking in the right place) it shows the 3.103.
Shows 3.103 here too. But why would abit upload a version of uGuru marked as 3.109 and not update the version number? But then again, in add/remove programs uGuru is listed as "abti uGuru" so I guess they could easily overlook it.
its 3.103 not 3.109 as indicated in their website...
I also had the same problem, and tried uninstalling and reinstalling it multiple times, including reboots and using system restore to before uguru, and it still showed the wrong version. I also tried downloading from multiple locations
So I just gave up and assumed it was an oversite since it seems to be working fine, but who knows what they actually did
At abit's FTP, there are newer versions of uGuru than 3.103. Maybe those are indeed newer than 3.103?
I just did a fresh reinstall of WinXP64 last night with all the drivers I could find, and I have 5 unknown devices still. They have to do with ACPI and Em64T. Any idea where I can fix these so they are recognized?
Hey guys...
I have a Q6600 on my IP35 pro... Was thinking of getting a q9650...
Do you think it is worth it? Or just wait, and do a x58 upgrade?
What speed does the 45 nm Quads get on the IP35?
I think it would be best to wait, because the gains going from 65nm to 45nm are nowhere near those you'll see going from core 2 to i7.
If the price of upgrade the mobo and getting ddr3 are a concern you're going to have to do that some time anyway, and intel will be keeping LGA-1366 in the high end through sandybridge. The price of ddr3 has dropped very much in the past two month too. You can now put together an decent 920 system for around a thousand dollars. Plus if you need to save up, by the time you get the money, price will have dropped again :D
Also the 920 and q9650 seem to overclock to similar speed, they can both break 4GHz
Guys can anyone tell me how to flash a new bios to my ip35 pro? as you can see in the picture, I think my BIOS is version 10! I want to upgrade to 18 so I can use RAID0 and get a more stable overclock. I use a Usb mouse and keyboard
Any help is greatly appreciated as this is pretty much the only place where I can find support for this board!!
Q6660 at 3.2ghz
4 gb Corsair XMS2 Pc2-8500 DDR2
4870x2
corsair 650tx
BTW this MOBO is beastly, I'm so pleased with its overclocking abilities even on an old BIOS
Cheers Guys
fruees: As far as I know, the latest bioses include mostly 45 nm compatibility. I don't think I have tried 1.8 bios, but I tried some newer bioses, and they worked pretty bad with the Q6600 (temp readings), so I had to flash back to an older bios.
Im running 1.4 I think.
I use a usb pendrive to boot from and flash. But you can also do it from floppy. I don't think its safe to do it within windows.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong? I have gone into uguru in the bios and set my multiplier to 8 and set the cpu setting to 350 to get me a nice safe 2800 setting and set my memory to have about 840. The weird thing is though that when I go look at cpuz it shows 2100 and then bounces up to 3150 with a multiplier that bounces between 6 and 9. I set my multiplier to 8. I checked my pc wizard and it shows the cpu at 3150. Anyone???
turn off the cpu functions in bios. its throttling your multiplier down to 6 when your idling.
edit; advanced bios features->cpu feature
Thanks Jolly, when I flash it (next week) I'll post here the day before with the method i intend to use.
Thanks for telling me about the BIOS 14 and a Q6660 - I'll download that one, does any one else with a q6660 use this? Cheers lads
j0lly- What are your core temps at idle? What cooling fan are you using?
