Wonder if the Rampage III has any throttling issues? I have had this board throttle at different BCLK clocks doesn't matter. I had it throttle at 3.8 on my old C0. and jVIDIA no improvements here with OC.

I am trying to install the 1003 bios but when I do I get an error something along the lines of "boot block in file is not valid".
Im running Windows 7 64 bit and did download the correct version.
In fact I tried several BIOS version and got the same error message.
your bios chip must be busted... take the board to the shop you bought it.
The problem i am having is...fresh install of windows 7 64 bit / Hangs at "STARTING WINDOWS"....or When I cold boot it hangs then when I re-boot I get the option to "Start windows normally" and it boots fine.
Other than that it works fine when its booted into windows.
yeah ok.. but that doesn't have nothing to do with the fact you cant flash your bios. try a bootable usb stick, use afudos es and type dos command line:
AFUDOS /Iromname.rom /PBNC /N
@ jVIDIA
penso ke apartir da 0610, ja suporta xeons. kuanto ao cpu, nao te sei dixer. tou satisfeito kom o meu.
For those who need Turbo power limit disable in P6T deluxe, and QPI SLOW MODE (x12 uncore multi, helped me to oc 10mhz bclk more) - you can try using non-native bios in P6T Deluxe.
I tried next:
ASUS P6T Deluxe 1.02G board working nicely with latest ASUS P6T WS PRO BIOS (this adds Turbo TDP/TDC Power Limit to be disabled!)
ASUS P6T Deluxe 1.02G board working nicely with latest ASUS P6X58D Preminum BIOS (This adds QPI SLOW MODE for P6T, and helped me to push bclk 10MHz more)
ASUS P6T Deluxe 1.02G board working nice with latest ASUS P6T7 WS PRO BIOS (no improvement with this)
ASUS P6T Deluxe 1.02G board working nice with latest ASUS P6T6 WS PRO BIOS
ASUS P6T Deluxe 1.02G board working wrong with latest ASUS Rampage II Gene BIOS (boots, but biosblock corrupted, there is some hw protection for sure)
Do it on your own risk.
ASUS P6T Deluxe 1.02G board NOT working with latest ASUS Rampage II Extreme BIOS
ASUS P6T Deluxe 1.02G board NOT working with latest ASUS Rampage III Extreme BIOS
P6X58D work best for me in P6T Deluxe, and have 8 oc profiles, in comparsion to deluxe bios with only two :D

This is with P6X58D bios. With native P6T Deluxe bios - NO WAY to get bclk past 220 on my rig.
Just FYI
I left X58D bios and using this for few days, no problems. PCIE slots physically different but connected to same pins on IOH. Same with USBs, all X58 mobos have USBs connected to ICH, no difference where they physically placed. Didn't tested SLI but sure it will work
good to see we can crossflash for more options/bclk if we want ..nice work and thanks for the info
u used a programme unit to flash bios.. can it be done using normal crossflash method ? ie. afudos
Note: Quote from TIN_EOF's link.. If you decide to crossflash, take care to be sure that target board have SAME VRM chips, SAME PLL and SAME SuperIO as your real hardware. That will almost guarantee you that nothing real wrong can happen.
interesting stuff! i'll keep an eye on this.
I don't have 980X.
ie. afudos
I don't know, if there is way to bypass model id protection. It's easier to me to use hardware :)
@ TiN_EOF
is it safe to flash my dlx v2 with the WS bios?
It should be possible to use AFUDOS in the same way a for the crossflashing from the P6T Deluxe to P6T Deluxe V2. I might be wrong
Still 10Mhz more usable BCLK i will be more than happy :D
That's with x12 QPI multi. 3D performance is awful
Still, at 200 BCLK it would run at 2.4GHz or 4.8GT/s. Is the QPI link really making such a hit on 3D perfrormance?
Im sure i read somewhere that between 4.8GT/s and 6.4GT/s there is 2% difference in overall performance
Dude at 12x we're talking laggy windows you don't even have to bother with 3D to find out. I'd take a regular 170BCLK over 230 @ 12x QPI.
My friggin P6TDLX V1 craps out at 216BCLK i tested with two chips now and it pisses me off. Some "budget" EX58-UD4P which i used before used to hit 220 without breaking a sweat and that's with locked PCI-E. Asus dropped the ball on this one, i can't believe they can't release a BIOS with TPL disable option. I have to run an ancient 0006 BIOS other wise it throttles at around 4.3-4.4Ghz.
The 0006 is still the "no throttling bios" to get?
bios 0707 and higher that ive tried does not throttle during high load (linx)..
By the way, i crossflashed my P6TDLX with a P6X58D BIOS using engineering afudos and it worked like a charm.
good to hear, have you tested SLI? and did it help your max bclk ?
