I have had good luck sofar.
2- small quirks. warm reboots take a stab at the reset button and the cpu temp is off.

I'm asking again (sorry for beeing rude :p:). Do you think my board is dead or it was just the (theoreticaly) unsupported CPU? :(
Thanks.
I think my board may have died... before it ever started. this board had c1's since it began. first died within a few days. maybe 3rd'll be the charm? I can't see another alternative but rma and that's another $20 for maybe 25% chance it will work. I mean honestly 1.8v ram should work!
well I live and learn. Time to see if I should just rma and try to sell it and then buy another board.
the board cost me around $240 and then an RMA cost $15 to ship around a little more actually and then another $15 to ship. So that's $270 I've spent on it. I'd be happy with a 975X/G right now.
See my lovely experience above..all i did was change to synce mode and boom..I got C1 error and nothing brought it backQuote:

I have to agree old man, this is my 5th DFI, had a SLI D, SLI DR, Expert, CX3200 and now this RD 600, never had a problem other than the ones that are a learning problem, everytime there was something wrong it was something that could be fixed using BIOS options, don't want to sound nasty but these are for either people who know what they are doing or people like me who like to tinker and learn whilst having fun.Quote:

Hmmm...I kinda resent you comments, you suggest most issues on this board are by less than smart users..I disagree(most here at least have some skills on tinkering and if not ask and get others experience)Quote:

Sorry, something wrong that the bios isnot/was not clearable ...somehow it corrupted with a change to sync mode...I never ran more than 1.42v on my chipset and had a 120 mm fan blowing on it load temps never exceeded 52/53C
How is my tinkering a bad user.....no sorry quality is sure questionable on this board marketed for people to tinker with and use the various options...no way it should not have been able to reset itself.....
Hi there my comments were not meant at any single user, just my opinion of how things have been for meand the amount of small issues at DFI street in the past, I just think it's par for the course to have difficulties with these boards, all the DFI's are more difficult to get right compared to other makes.Quote:

Moreover Nealh sometimes is a no luck with hardware. It seems you are the only guy here with this problem so it's hard to blame something other that misfortune:confused: .
no same for me. jumped to ddr1000 with 2.6v on my fatbody and c1 error at 4-4-4-4-12 timings. I rma'ed it and then I get a board that will c1 with 1.8v ddr2 ram. it has never worked so I never even changed settings with it.Quote:

You are not looking very hard..look around numerous people are having trouble with C1 and other issues on the board...I thought i had lucked out on the board as it worked great till i tired a sync mode...I wish i had not
Board would never reset
kimandsally: sorry..I was not taking it as directed at me per se but...my comments were to point out many here at XS have had issue with the board..knowledgable users....
my point is the board has some faults(like many others) but the issue of a bios that will not reset after one attempt at sync mode..as me very leary that something is very fragile
I never said it's your fault i say it's misfortune.
U said that [b]many[/] had problems with this board i say that many here have no problems with the board. Here at xs thre is loads of threads for many and personnally i had before an ASUS P5W DH and you can look at the size of this board thread. And in ur personal case u said "the board has some faults(like many others) but the issue of a bios that will not reset after one attempt at sync mode". U are the only one it seem with this problem so u can blame ur board not u and i think not DFI. U have enough knowledge to know that each piece of hardware is unique...
Better try another cpu like a good P4.
Hi there I'd say don't worry, here's the spec for the top of the range Fluke digital MM
Fluke 80 Series V Digital MultimetersSpecifications
Voltage DC Maximum Voltage: 1000V
Accuracy: Fluke 83 V: ±(0.1%+1)
Fluke 87 V: ±(0.05%+1)
So if you take tolerances into account its as good as it gets really.
No my issue with bios reading is it accurate value...I was not able to get my DMM to check because of my storm retention plate....I reallize all methos have some variance but the bios could be just way off...
AbelJemka
your comment that many have issues and many do not...is a wierd statement.....very few should have any issues, if quality is good
go look at DFI forum....there are more users reporting memory related issues on the board and an inabiltiy to reset the cmos..not just me
our samples have issues...first no one knows how many boards are sold, how many really have issues
But it is clear this board is not up to snuff..sorry..just becasue you have a great experience means nothing
Kin Hell..had 3 board so far..2 were bad...he is not the only person on multiple boards
Hi Nealh
I've been reading from page 1, when I wrote the bit that upset you O hadn't reached this;
"I did not push any farther than I did earlier...(I tired 9x 390 1:1..without this)
this time was I went 380x 9..with auto strap, sync....crap
No more for tweaking until they get a better bios....."
Now I understand, me old smarty pants doing my bit when your board had died,
I'm REALLY sorry if I had read that far ahead my post wouldn't have appeared, foot into mouth comes to mind.:slapass:
Hope you get sorted soon, I've pretty much read the whole thread now and you have been a major contributer which helps the like of me, then have the horrible luck, you certainly do not deserve it you seem a fine gentleman that tries to help others.
I think this board misrepresents the actual temperature of the CPU and chipset. I have used the same CPU and HSF on a Gigabyte DS3 and ASUS
P5N-E SLi and on both of those boards both the included monitoring programs and speedfan32 reported 33C idle and 49C load with 1.5vcore. When I put the same hardware in this board it reads 43C idle and 62C load. The chipset temps appear to track similarly. This is my 2nd DFI RD600 board and both do the same relative to temps.
Hi,
The new bios, I can't seem to enter setup at all?
Someone earlier in the thread said you need to hit DEL at the right time and not to spam it. Tried it loads of times and I'm still not getting into the Bios and also it doesn't load the OS after hitting DEL.
What kind of time does DEL need to be pressed?
Pretty hard to overclock in the bios if I cant enter it.
So looking at all thread board here i can say that all board have bad quality cause all threads of full of people with issues.Quote:

I say i have no issues and i don't post my results too much why? Cause i have no issues and only to help ppeople who have. 75% of forum post for board are from people who have issues cause people without issues don't post. It's like this and that will always be like this.Quote:

Controversal sentence?Quote:

I can go on P5B-Slx thread and easily find some guy with multiple boards. Moreover i know one on my friends with 3 boards which get rma. So with your logic P5B-Dlx is a bad board...Quote:
Kin Hell..had 3 board so far..2 were bad...he is not the only person on multiple boards
No sweat at all...I RMAed the mobo back to Newegg
I hoping to have the replacement ..middle of next week..2 weeks away from my main setup..Blah
I only hope I can get things back up and running at 3500 cpu:500 ram...I was 20hr blend stable..got all that testing to prove it is stable
I have seen several report the beta bios may have issues..one person flashed and could not get a post..several have had issues trying to get into the bios to change settings
I am disappointed to see no new official bios updates but I will say a warning was suggested there maybe little support for this mobo(I think more from ATI than DFI)
just something random
this is a screenie for my countries new overclocking league
the aim of the league is percentage overclock from cpu, mobo, ram, gpu and gddr - a little formula applied to try weight the more important items directly.
we chose this percentage method so as not to exclude those with lower end tek since benching rigs these days are very expensive imo
the phase section is going to be fun - goal 100% overclock on all 5 items when averaged
