I thought the same thing. It's hidden in the packaging, take another look.Quote:

Do you have legacy usb support turned on? Many users have reported problems with that option.
I disabled it and I still can't get it to work. I'm going to go home and try it again.
What exactly does legacy usb support do? I can't boot from my external dvd drive unless it's on.
I'm not sure but if I don't have it on my Microsoft Natural 4000 keyboard won't work.
That's the 2 things that I know of that it's for: enabling support outside operating systems for usb keyboards, and ability to boot usb devices.
If you have access to a ps2 keyboard, disable the legacy usb option, disconnect the usb keyboard, and try the ps2 keyboard to see if that helps the memtest problem. Might want to start out with stock oc and voltage settings also, if not already.
The problem with booting a usb hard drive or optical drive, is that when accessing it after booting, it's only going to run at usb 1 speed. I don't think there's any way around that.
Hello guys! :)
I've got a problem with OC. Dunno why, i never had problem with OC before but now i don't know what to do.. So. I try to explain my problem...
My previous MoBo was A8N-Sli Premium. And my CPU Sandiego 4000+ i overclocked at 242x12=2904 on 1.525V. ANd RAM worked at 242MHz too.. and all was fine. but i try to overclocked it more 250x12 but it was not enough Voltage on CPU and SuperPi and Orthos doesn't passed the test.
so i changed A8N-sli premium to a8n32-sli deluxe, because in this MoBO i can put 1.65Voltage on CPU. :)
Yesterday i recieved mobo and start testing.. Maybe i am doing something wrong, but i can't ovecrlocked it to previous results. It means that 242x12 doesn't working.. SuperPi and Orthos doesn't passed the test. I tryed to change memory divider to slower but it didn't help me.
I don't know where is the problem... anybody have any idea ?
the topic is dead? two days left and nobody answer... i still need a help
I think it has something to do with sub memory timings, especially MAL (Max Async Latency) and RP (Read Preamble). If you keep them too tight while upping the HTT (and RAM freq of course) it will get unstable whatever setting or timing you try; you need to losen them. For starters I suggest using MAL 9 ns and RP 7.0 ns.
But before trying that, see if those settings (242x12=2904 on 1.525V) ARE stable with say 0,05 more vcore. I read somewhere on these forums that the A8N-SLI Premium tends to overvolt every vcore-value by 0,06-something (for example: 1.4v + 0,06v = 1,46v). And the A8N32-SLI probably isn't, which means that previously you were using more vcore than you're using now, which makes it unstable.
So try that first, otherwize go play with those subtimings.
Report back whether it works or not :)
Oh m8.. i am tryed everything. i put MAX voltage 1.65 and it is still doesn't helped. I tryed to use only one memory part. i put it in B1 slot. i tryed to play with timings, subtimings and dividers on memory, but it still doesn't helps me. I tryed to switch all Memory setting to AUto and put the memory divider to the lowest with cpu at 2904Mhz and lower but still doesn't help.. (i mean not only 242x12 doesn't work. Lower frequency doesn't work too.. for example 210x12 still failed on Orthos) Maybe my Mobo works only in non-overclocked mode? :D dunno wtf with my mobo..Quote:

The max v core you can set in this board is 1.425v, If you want more, use the CPU overvolt option, it gives you 0.2 v to anything you select in the cpu vcore field (so, i.e, if you wanna hit 1.50v, select your vcore at 1.3 and enable overvolt, 1.3+0.2= 1.5v, voila!)Quote:

Im mostly interested in Ram settings because that too me was the most complicated part back almost a year ago when i was overclocking(<--Not good at this) this system. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
wow, you guys seem to be really trained in getting the most out of this board... I have it too but I'm a bit of a newbie on overclocking. Any chance anyone could take my hand and lead me to getting the max out of my board ? I have a Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester cpu and 2*1GB Corsair XMS 4000PT DDR 500, Sweex 650W PSU, Asus EAX1900XT video and a coolermaster cpu fan. I monitored cpu with asus probe II and I get a steady 35 degrees C on the board and around 45 on the cpu under stress. The case is open on the top and sides because I'm not concerned with estetics and if I close the case it overheats in a few hours, even at stock speed. I've been using Asus ai nos overclocking wich overclocks the board and cpu by a total of 10% and that runs quite steady at 2.4Ghz. Bus speed 220 multiplier 11.
btw, I can't put the bus to 250 with this cpu right ? Just checking
You should be able to set it to 250. I have the same cpu and I set it to 270x10 for 2700 although that required alot more voltage. I was able to hit 2500 easily so I bet you could do 250x10 with no problem. Maybe even 250x11 although you may have to work for that. Mine can't go over 2700 no matter what I do. Just set the K8>NB Multiplier setting to 4x in the bios so it's 250x4.
anything else or other settinsg that need to be done besides that enabling that one particular setting ?
is hard with this mobo pass 250, memory class make the diference, and secundary timings too tigh donīt like

have any of you guys gotten the esata port to work? i picked up a cable with an esata plug on one end, and a regular sata on the other so i could plug a drive into the external port. i have the sil controller enabled in bios, with it set to sata2, i have tried setting it to raid, still a no go. drive wont even show in bios. anyone have success in doing this?
The esata port seems to work fine for me. I always have a Plextor sata optical drive plugged into the internal siI port also. Don't think that should make any difference whether the esata port works, though.
Do you see the siI bios message when the system posts? If so, you should be able to enter that bios screen and see the drive there.
i hit f4 to enter the sill bios, no drive there. i have a drive plugged into the internal sil port, works fine. im wondering if i got a bad cable, or maybe its not possible to hook a drive up this way? how are you using your esata port? thanks for the help
