- Mem can go up to 1120 so 4200 should be a problem.
- Temps are 62C prime, and 70C Intelburntest
- MCH @ 1.40 doesnt help.
Try this out. Leaving the cpu and mch references to auto is probably the problem. I put in a little more vcore just to help make sure its not going to be an issue, you can lower it later or just raise the fsb if stable.

Anybody had this, all i did was remve one of my HDD's, i tried unplugging the power for 1/2 hour, loaded defaults, booted fine at deefault, once i put my overclock back i get stuck at this screen.

That's weird. Looks like something got corrupted, did you try re-flashing the Bios?

I hope this is an appropriate place to post this, but where's a good place to pick up a relatively cheap q9650 these days? Anywhere cheaper than the egg?

finally my BFG GTX285 H20 OC arrived yesterday...so after some hours of surgery :D i shoot a 3DM06 in her stock clocks with the Q9650 at my stable 4500mhz
i was astonished how fast the combo is and how cool is the card max load temp is 40C at 24,5C ambient / 19C outside, its 15C less than the ultra, so my core readings lowered like 3C

i wish i could have gotten my Q9650 to do 9x500@4500 ddr1200.i can do it with my E8400,but i would love to have done it with a Quad.

just grab a L828A446 and you will mate ;)
you can feel the speed took me a long time to get the system this fast and i love it, i was so anxious that i just cut the tubes and installed it, i was going to remove all plasticidez tygons but i couldn't lol, i just wanted to try this beast :D

a new one mate...you can find it on ebay we brought it from Canada all L828A446 are ALL vid 1,15to 1,1875 that's why i say so, of course such a low vid for me in summer i have to forget about 4400 or 4500 (i don like cores IDLE at 47C) but in winter its a pleasure :D

i found out why my boot screen went all screwie, i installed a temp operating system using the gsata, then when i swapped it to the intel sata i got a screwed screen, swapped it back and now its fine, kinda strange.

Nice overclock guys, I'm quite happy with mine at 4Ghz on air with a Zalman 9700NT cooler, does a pretty good job as well.
