Hey guys,
Is it possible to run a P4 531 Stepping G1 on my P35-DS3P rev1.0 board?
The cpu support list is only talking about the 531 E0 stepping support.
Ill say sorry beforehand if this has already been mentioned.
I was wordering if i have to install any sata drivers in xp installation for my P35 DS3R (rev 1)?....im just going to run 1 sata drive.....cheers
This should be interesting for vdroop on the DS3R (also on the DS3 I have?)

For those who can't locate that chip, it's between the CPU Fan header and 1 of the Socket 775 holes... :)
flashed mine with f9 bios via qflash in BIOS
no post or anything
bad flash :(
tried all necessary cmos/jumper things
cant removie bios chip as it soldered on
rma :(?
i may go abit ip35 pro
I take it Gigabyte have given up on the P35 DS3P :(
GA-P35-DS4 (rev. 2.0) F9 bios is out:fact:

in my mind the locktite is simply bypassing the resistor thus opening the voltage up wide open. now this might be ok but what else is getting that extra juice and missing out on what that resistor does.
i have use conductive ink on a resistor before and it made BAD things happen.
i would advise that you guys NOT do that mod.
bypassing a resistor is not good. infact you want ot add more resistance to a resistor not less.
if one of you guys want to try it go for it but i dont really advise it.
on a side note i love the guy who said ALL of shaminos mods work.
that guy obviously is a retard.
shamino doesnt test ANY of his mods as many of you probably already know.
all he does, or what i think he does is measures a resistor..and says yup pencil that one in he doesnt actually try them to verify. he leaves it up to us to kill our hardware or try it to see if it works.
i've warned you guys about trusting that site and the bogus mods they post. and many of you have listened so just err on the side of caution and wait for a true mod to come to light.
dnottis even posted that the mod doesnt work (the original pencil mod)
Damn just what I thought... vdroop mod DOES NOT WORK on DS3... I tried it twice with silverglue... that worked very well on my old 7900gt vmod so I know it's the right stuff... damn this :banana::banana::banana:ing vdroop is driving me crazy... 1.45v in bios is 1.39v idle and 1.33v under quad load
ANYONE got a suggestion for a good board WITHOUT vdroop?
Asus/Dfi/Foxconn i guess. Any board which has the "vdrop" option in the bios i presume.
vdrop option? there is boards with vrop option? what does this option do, how does it work??
GA P35 DS4/Q6600, F9 bios, water cooling cpu and video card only, 1.575 vcore setting in bios.

I have the 2.0 version, and yes the bios helped. There is not near as much vdroop and the voltages read more on the same setting than they did before. I could only get a 30 minute OCCT at 3925 with the F7, F9 is better and has a new option for power line I think it was, right next to the vcore adjustment. I guess its for vcore.
