i have the ocz value ram with the winbond chips i got them from atacom.com
they are stable 100% at 2,2,2,5 250mhz 3.3v im trying to get them higher and memtest gives me errors at 253 mhz but at 2 hours of running test 5
Cada... check this Newegg listing out... is it the same stuff?

I figured it was just because of the good pcb, but once i got them in a mobo w/ booster....
More vdimm!!Quote:

lol, it didn't fit the message. But what the guy was asking about, I was asking myself the same question at first. The original msg from Ryan had a different part number from what the web site stated. But Ryan replied back saying it was not KW, but the W is in the part number. Anyway, what ATACom has is the right part number. This was all in the thread. :)Quote:

My sticks are scheduled for delivery Friday as well. I did 2-Day to get them here before the weekend. Almost $17 for a half pound package.
I am oh so very tempted to try these. My PQI TCCD's are not to shabby, but the allure of possible 2-2-2 timings at 250mhz for only $150 is almost to much. Quick, someone talk me out of buying some.....
Man i cannot wait any longer :slobber:
Guess you all got them from atacom. Would you recommend buying them there or should i still wait for newegg (if yes, for what reason?)
Screw Newegg. Those guys are getting lazier. They have a warehouse, not more then 15 miles from me and stuff now takes an avg 3-4 days to get to me, instead of one. Prices steadily go higher to boot. Shipping is getting more expensive as well. Atacom was a great buying experience for me.
Thx m8Quote:

Atacom has done alright, shipping via UPS ground is sloooow. :)
I'm supposed to get mine today, but i can't say as though i'm happy with atacom so far. I ordered mine last Sunday, and on Tuesday they sent me an e-mail saying they wouldn't ship it to me because my billing/shipping address were different?! I've ordered countless times from online vendors doing this, but they said i had to clear this up with my bank. They even charged my card, before they sent me that e-mail. I cleared it up, and according to tracking it should arrive today. I'll let you know how it goes.
i dont know guys for sure but i think my mobo wont let me put the booster up higher then 3.4v. anything higher and the pc starts acting wild and more errors in mem testright now im running the mem at 252mhz 2,2,2,5 @3.3v
some help please?
NewEgg seems to be a bit inconsistant in their pricing from the things I've bought recently. Their x800 XL was about $100 more than what I paid. Their Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe was about $30 more than I had paid and I think even their A64 3200 was about $20 higher. I'd buy from them first if their price is close, but it hasn't been that way lately.
I had never heard of AtaCom until this thread, but I ordered 2-day shipping early Wed morning and it's arriving today (Fri), so they shipped it out on Wed. No complaints so far.
I got mine from Atacom today. I went ahead and ordered from them because I would bet $100 by the time NewEgg gets this DDR it will be more expensive.
results please
3.1
3.2
3.3
and so on
EDIT: Stupid PN confusion...
There's some clarity for everyone. :)Quote:

And I had to look the part number againg, because there were no WINBOND dips on teh chips like the Twinmos SP. Are these still UTT?
Also, the default timing is like 3-4-4-8. Is that right?
I'll give you more info as i progress.
FYI - runnign Intel AS8
They did that to me too. I just got mine today.Quote:

The BP pcb makes for higher running ch-5 then is the norm, at least in my meager system. i was lucky and get 2-2-2-5-7-15-1 all the way up to 260, but 3.4-3.6v. The UTT should do that with less, IMHO. I have a pair that are only good for 2.5-2-2-5-7-15-1 too. They are not dualchannel packs either. Sinlge, loose, cheap OEM bargain bin mem...from like 1999-2000. They are pushing old stock out here in EDM....the 3400+ i got 3-4 weeks ago was cbazc 0435, and there were at least 15-20 other chips with similar steeping and dates, from 3000+ up. THey didn't even have 939 winchesters @ 3000+ yet. :stick:Quote:

It seems as though these are the untested A-data vitesta pc4000-pc4400 chips. A-data/v-data are one and the same.
What number is on them?Quote:

Cada,
I will try to pick up a few of those sticks. I need basic 512MB stics, so if they work out for the better, I am good :) They are just so cheap.
Ashe,
The number on the sticker - ocz4001024wv3dc-k As for the marking on the chips, it is completely bare. Only a single dimple at the bottom corner.
Well.. I know its value and 3-4-4-8, but to get 2-2-2-5 is VERY NICE :)
So far my testing.. I have one stick running at 230 @ 2-2-2 w/ 3.2v. I think the 2nd stick is hosed. I was getting errors on test 1 @ all default / no OC.
I'm in teh process of testing each stick right now to confirm.

I paid 150CAD, so went back when the first pair worked out and bought a few more pairs. Dude at the store knows i overclock everything..and when i got them he said to me "are you gonna run then @ 2?" I HAD to try...he slips me some nice stuff every once in a while. (they have some other cheap ram that might be untested hynix 2-2-2-5, gonna try a few sticks this weekend, after i check out the stepping).

Got my 2x512 of Value VX on my Intel AS8
1st Stick does - 235 @ 2-2-2-5 w/ 3.2 Volts havne' t tried booster yet
2nd Stick is Bad - At all stock settings 3-4-4-8, errors the moment Memtest starts on #1.
I have to RMA the stick. When you RMA dual channels, do you have to send in both sticks?
