Sounds to me like jealousy or sour grapes. But, either way, if you cannot appreciate the xtreme end of the hobby, why are you even here?

If you are flame baiting....which i now suspect you are, consider this reminder that such behvior is not welcome here.

That said, let's put this thread back on topic! Keep it about the Expert and whether the board is "worth it". Thanks.

Don't assume you know how much I've spent on my system or tell me I've wasted my time, effort, and money. I've bought things over time and definately am not one to spend frivolously. I've also tested more cpu's than you've probably seen in your life but it doesn't mean I bought every single one of them :rolleyes: Just because you can't afford anything better than a K6 - 450 doesn't mean that you have to hate on people that can. Oh, BTW, I don't have to buy the most expensive cpu's to get high clocks:

As I already stated "You should be proud of yourself" Give yourself a pat on the back. Maybe you can get an FX60 and get it up to 4GHz...Wow!

Hehehe...28 years old with a business degree from U.C. Berkeley....I am quite proud of myself since I don't need to troll forums and put down other people's systems/accomplishments to make up for my own inadequacies.....

How much someone spends on a computer is really their business only and no one else's (except maybe their spouse's ;) ). Some people have more money than others and different priorities in life. Just because someone doesn't spend his or her money the way you would, doesn't make them an idiot. It would actually be a boring world if everyone thought the same way and bought the same things.

I just read this entire thread, this has been one of the most entertaining reads in a long time.

Anyways, I'm about to take the plunge from a GA-K8N-pro 754 board and my little champ 3200 a64 that bombs along @ 2.4ghz on air stock voltages, and jump into a DFI Expert/3700sd/2x1gb OCZ.... it looks like I'm about to get SCHOOLED by this thing. Bare with me over the next week or so when I come in asking questions about various bios settings...

Jeez! Taking out multiple components! Sounds like all voltage regulation fails all at once. Hopefully more details are forthcoming, if not in this thread, then perhaps a new one. Seems threadworthy.

My Expert is back on the bench. I took a break from it to prep the game rig I'm putting together. Nothing extreme (water cooling) just testing memory right now. I'm looking for any sign that my CPUs or memory sticks gain some performance with the Expert vs. my last Ultra. No obvious signs yet. So ... the premium price and the sense of impending doom (bonus!) that comes with the Expert have not yet been offset by a bump in performance for me. I'm still looking though. :D
