2. avoid the ram divider by setting the fsb dram to auto or to fsb400:dram533 (it will set the 1:1 ratio, at least it did for me... this bios isnt programmed very well...)

Can someone tell me what is a good/safe vcore for dothan?

I started raising vcore and my stability increases by 14-28Mhz (that is above 2.73Ghz) every 0.0125V. I am almost @ 2.8Ghz 1.63V DMM. I wonder if I could get 2.9Ghz at 1.7V. Dunno if I should try that.

Cooling TT big typhoon, load temps now @ 45C

id say its ok... not sure though... does the heatsink have a copper base?

1.7v for short benchs or for 24/7 use?

i think there should be no problem running 1.7v (4 benchs of course) if u got good cooling.

i was running 1.76v with sonic tower -> no problem at all....as long as i left my window open (around 3°C ambient temp.)^^
was running 1.76v for around 1h without damaging my cpu.
(even if it only needed 1.68v for 1m at 3ghz)

25sec with 2756MHz on Super-Pi Mod it's OK I think..........FSB=RAMS = 275MHz Cas 2-2-2-5..........:D


EDIT: I forgot.......Cpu-Z VALIDATION

EDIT No2: 3D Benchable @ 275MHz Rams with a PCI-E X600XT VGA....:D

EDIT No3: FORGET the 275MHz Rams 3D Benchable.........Now they are @ 278MHz 3D Benchable.........:D

263 x 10 and my bh can bench pi 1mo at 280 :(

i ve tried with more pcie (121) and 264

more test :p

I get 25sec at 2700MHz with the P4C800E-D mobo.....This one is a biiiiittttt slower...... :)

125 pcie bios = 266.5 fsb max

with 125 pcie i could run 262fsb for 24/7 and 270 for 1m.

but afaik u cant increase the pcie frequency in windows.

u have to set pcie in bios, boot at 201fsb and set fsb in windows.

You need chipset mod, at 1.6V mine goes to 265 or so

I've had PCI-E at 135. Anything above ~122 makes onboard sata unusable

and no sata HDD

By the way, you can still use SATA hdd but on PCI Sata controller card. I have Silicon image PCI card and it works fine @ PCI-E > 125

MAJOR UPDATE.....:)

I told you that I'll try to hardware Mod the mobo so as to "lock" PCI-E and PCI frequencies above 120MHz(which we didn't knew for sure if it was that).......I measured with a frequency counter(meter if you wish) and guess what??.......PCI-E and PCI frequencies ARE LOCKED at the SAME FREQUENCY we pick within Clockgen.....THEY ARE LOCKED......:)

EVEN IF WE CHOSE 270MHz or 230MHz or WHATEVER, THEY ARE LOCKED.....FOR SURE......(Thanks Franck - cpuz)...... :)

Here I booted at 120MHz PCI-E and within Windows I picked 129.89MHz as for the PCI-E....Take a look.....

SO.......I think that it's a BIOS problem NOT leting us boot with higher PCI-E frequency.....I'll do some more testings tommorow and I'll get back.....;)

BTW.....DON'T tell me how "agly" is my tiny frequency counter coz I SMOKE TOO MUCH.....:D

Yes saaya. The retail 780m had no problems at all scaling with 14, 15, or 16x up to 3850mhz so far, havent tried for higher yet. All these WR 3d runs with asus p4gd1 and 7800gtx 512 were with my retail boxed 780 chip. Mem/system speed for 01' was around 271-272x14 if I remeber right. Base temps were at -140 to -150c.ONly problem with the retail chip wsa that it doesnt seem to like colder than -150c. This system is still easily capable of 275x14:

Single card 05' WR
Single card 03' WR
Single card 01' and currently overall WR

p4gd1 + pm 740 under cascade

vdimm + vdd mod

max fsb around 270 5222 @ 3.85v :D

but 22.968 @ 258 x 13 if i remember my score , and a friend do 23.7 at 3100 on p4p800

so i8xx is better than i915

Got my P4GD1 setup working and still in the process of tuning it.

Windows XP SP2
Dothan 740
CT-479 - stock, no mods
Zalman 7700 AlCU with flipped brackets, no shim!
P4GD1 - stock, no mods
Corsair Valueram 1 GB - auto settings
Geforce 6800 Ultra Reference board - stock settings

Vcore - 1.55 bios, cpuz reads 1.62?!!!!
PCIE - 120
PCI - locked at 33.33
FSB - 223 FSB
All other settings on auto for now

Boots up into Windows @ 2900 Mhz and 3d game stable but did not run SPmod yet. If I push the FSB up to 225 @ stock multi to get 2930 MHZ, it will eventually reboot.

P4GD1 needs a droop mod!!

I will test with higher Vchipset and might need to wait for Hipro5's mods.

try 125 or 130 pcie in windows with clockgen

3dm05 went from 1580 to 1200 and 3dm01 went from 9600 to 8500.
i've yet to try 2 pcie video cards at the same time, but i think they'll work ok.
