Wont it go any higher? id expect the memory to do 580 MHz atleast. probably in excess of 600 MHz.
BTW, still not been able to crak 14k in 3D Mark 03 :slapass:. Now standing at 13941!!! grrrrrr.......
Anyway to volt-mod the core through the bios like you can do with some nVidia cards (did it on my 6600GT)? I really don't want to hard-mod this right now, as Ive just had it for 36 hours :D
Mine said R423 in ATi Tool before I flashed, R480 afterwards.

isn't R423 x800 core, not x850.
i thought R480 was x850 and R423 was x800

oh, and i haven't even TRIED overclocking past x850xt specs yet, so I bet it'll do more, i'm just letting the as5 sit in and whatnot. I'll be getting a new gpu cooler soon. This sucker runs pretty cool too, 35c idle, where as my x800pro was 42c idle. Load only gets up to 62c, where my x800pro saw 72
So its still on 12 pipelines? or 16? :confused:

It's fully unlocked to 16 pipes, stock cooling.
I'm currently scanning @ 560/570 with no artifacts yet. If it keeps that up I'll start benching. Don't expect anything mind shattering with a 2.65ghz winnie and value ram though :D
OK i just ran 560/575 and it's fine. 570 core freezes my computer and 580 gets pixel errors. This is on STOCK COOLING with fresh as5 so that may get better when I get some ramsinks and better cooling. My core hit 77c while running artifact scanner for 10 mins though, which is just rediculous, but ATi Tool's scanner is very harsh and I have yet to see any game get my core past 60c on my x800pro. Benches are going to be ran right now, I'll show results when done =)
BENCHING RESULTS
Well, I'm done, and I was very pleased and suprised by the results.
First thing's first. The settings:
AMD64 Winchester @ 2.65ghz (295x9)
2x512mb ram @ 221mhz 2.5-3-3-7
x800gto -> 16 pipe @ 561/573
Catalyst 5.10
NO special 3D Mark tweaks were done, this is my 24/7 rig
Stock cooling on gpu with no extra fans on or around the core/ram
3D Mark 03: 14071 (click to see pic of all settings)
3D Mark 05: 6867 (again, click for pic)
I don't really know what to set drivers for with catalyst to get better scores, but I bet with an opteron 939 and my old VX, 7k would have been cake =)
Hello guys, if I try to flash my Sapphire x800gto Fireblade Edition Card's bios to Sapphire x850xt bios would there be any risk of damaging the card if the mod doesn't work? Or do you know if it really works or not?
Ozan : AFAIK, the only Sapphire version of the GTO series that work is the GTO2, so if it were my card, I would not take the risk. :(

I'm really tempted to reflash to clocks 560/573, since I changed it using rabit, but IDK, if it aint broke dont fix it right? =P
