Right now I got my fan (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...776150-1557438) sitting on my desk to make sure my comp stays cool, been having probs with it lately.
and if im sitting on my computer im either listening to music or gaming, both with headphones though.
so it sucks to be my dad ^_^

I see, the coils arnt very tight making for easy air flow ( it allll makes sense now ) so closer coils would call for higher cfm fans but would dicipate heat more efficiently ( even if its .1C )?

You're not stupid. It's just rather hard to see it on many radiators because the fins are so tightly packed together.
PA160 has louvered fins too.

BRiT: Where to mount it... well now, that's the $1m question isn't it? I haven't quite worked that out yet. Here are a couple of pics illustrating one idea of mine.

Doesn't quite line up, so I'd either move up a bay, or make a cutout in the bottom of the case, and I don't yet have a second fan/hdd bay to fully check the line up anyway. Otherwise, I could reverse that and put the rad in front with the HDD bays sticking back a little. Hellifino man. Still working this out in da brain.
To complicate matters, I've actually got two of those PA120.2's (the other will likely go on top)... yeah... :am: :hitself: ... which is to say, my being a n00b may have led to overkill... but no matter what, I'm going to have fun building this rig, so :p:

No, not at all. Each louver is a pair of slits with the metal pushed out a little bit, so it's bidirectional.Quote:

Each little press-out in the fin is the louvre... standard thang... alternating in each direction as they go down the length of the fin, with a peak to peak profile of 1mm, so each individual louvre is 0.5mm high. They're parallel to their originating surface. If there was a slight twist to the louvre then it would be better suited to unidirectional, but can't assume in this game which direction air will be going thru the rad in, so for PC Watercooling, best to go for flat louvres. That and profiled louvres just serve to increase air resistance.

Hey marci, can I get specs on the fans? I googled it and all it came up with was 2 pages of forum posts, nothing with specs lol.

And does anyone know where I can find some HE vs BI info? :) cause like Master G said If I went with the PA I could always switch to a lower cfm/dba fans later if I get annoyed by the noise.

its odd, my PA120.3 didn't come with BARBS!!! MY HE120.3 DID! I see canuslupy got barbs. Did I have to order them separately? I figured it would have been included.
Where did you order the HE from? Where did you order the PA from? I'll guess they weren't from the same place. What our retailers decide to provide with the rads is entirely up to them.
ThermoChill.com supply without fittings. Nowhere on ThermoChill.com does it show them with fittings included, and in the description it makes no mention of a hose size, just a thread size for the fitting to source your own if you require. Alternately, add the correct barbs to your cart from the Accessories section of thermochill's store.
I ordered from Thermochill, and since I saw that they did not come with barb's, I specifically added them to my order. I was concerned with this from the start since the PA's specified BSPT fittings, which is UK standard vs NPT here in the states.
I have some of the 1/2" chrome barbs from Danger Den. I hope it fits with the PA.
wow, I have to buy more from thermo to ship to the u.s. wow this might be a pain in the arse.
140.42 for me to buy a PA120.3 and its barbs.
god lol. I might just go with something else then cause thats quite a bit.
