it's a rev2 engineering sample of the R520
it will have SM3.0
whoa 1.26ns ram 1.6ghz
not 24 or 32 pipelines
other than TMSC they found UMC to create the core.. they hope to have 32 or 24pipes version of the R520 engineering sample?

ATI claims they have full control over the situation, and that they will raise the standard for computer graphics in the fall of 2005
Let's keep the ATI flag high up in the air, and let us not forget the great competeter NVIDIA
^can you stop posting that already?
i mean if you are right, cool, but im tired of reading your prediction.
You're right, it's getting silly. Pardon, escusé moi.Quote:

ATi Radeon X1800XL 16 pipelines card to be launched on October 5?
http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=466843
oo i think frisch is right then, if the xl has 16 then their high end card couldnt...... could it ?
The x800xl had 16, just like the x800xt...
It's very possible the xl and xt have the same amount of pipelines this time.
I wonder how well it will preform in linux and bsd, because I know literally 5,000 linux users that would drop their nVidia graphics cards If they knew beyond a doubt that in linux the R520 would compete with or be better than the 7800GTX
and just 1,500 BSD users who feel the same...

"There is a 32 pipes version of the R520 as well but it can only be clocked at 520MHz and as a result it will perform lower than the 24 pipes R520XT @ 650Mhz core. Therefore ATi will not release it until R580 comes along.'
