If you have the LE try opening only 12 pipes. If that doesn't work you'll
have to settle for just the extra shaders.
ok, got my card today and tomarrow my arctic cooler will be here.
my question is: do i have to use Ceramique on the DDR or can i use AS5? because i dont have any Ceramique and i didnt think to order any. and i dont want to use the pads that are on the arctic cooler, but i might have to.
It's my understanding that AS5 is OK on the RAM in 6800 cards because the chips
don't have exposed legs.

w/12 pipes, I get streaks (broken window) in BF2. 16 pipes is un unacceptable. However, I can play BF2 w/everything turned on to max.
If anyone has ideas, I'm all ears.
That sux. Only thing I can think of is you can try flashing your BIOS to
get more voltage. Some have had success getting rid of very minor artifacting
that way. Don't think it will help in your case though.
Were you able to leave all 6 shaders enabled?
I also can't game with 16+6... I game at 12+6, 400/850...
I'd be REALLY surprised if you can't even get 12 pipes. If I were you, I'd eat the 15% fee ($20) and return it to newegg for refund and try another.

How do I go about flashing the bios for more voltage?
As stated above, download winfox from leadtek's website. D/L NibiToR also... use winfox to read and SAVE your current BIOS. Use NibiToR to open that BIOS and open voltage tab, change to 1.4v and SAVE with a different name like custom.rom then close the proggie and reopen winfox, use winfox to open/read/flash the new custom.romQuote:

In my case, they're artifacting. Would it be worthwhile to even try? I may just do as you stated and get a refund, and try another. Ofcourse, it doesn't help that I bought this at $135 and it's back to $145.
It plays BF2 flawlessly however. But that's not what we OCers can compromise with. We want results and OC that reach the sky ;)

no, No, no... I DO get arties in BF2 with 16 pipes in SOME situations just not all shadows and shaders, but the sniper rifle for example always lights up with blue arties. and in '05 I get TONS of arties!... 12 pipes on the other hand is perfect. It MAY be worth it to consider EVGA 6800NU for $189 guaranteed 12 pipes and 50/50 on 16 pipes...Quote:

I can play BF2 on 8 pipes, no problems. BF2, w/12 pipes will have the cracked window thing. It's like I'm in warp mode. Streaking stars are flying by stemming from center of screen toward the edge!
This is the first case that i have heard a 6800le not getting at leats 12 pipes

Yes, the difference is that the 6800LE is 8 pipes and 4 shaders. Some speculate that the 6800LE is the "bottom of the bucket" cores that can't pass as 6800GT or 6800NU speed binning. Others speculate that Nvidia's process is SOOOOOOOO good that 90% of these cores will run at 12 pipes and some number, maybe 25% will even run at 16 pipes.Quote:

Good choice. I'd go with the NU for the reasons Sickapotamus presented.
If you plan to use stock cooling I'd humbly suggest the Leadtek for it's sink design. :)
