There is no R520 for now so you don't know. If the R520 was that good they would have lauched it already. The R520 is in respin 7932.

Actually, a while back, a prototype of the R520 landed at DriverHeaven, with I believe 32 pipes, did 40k with an intel at only 4.3 ghz....both on air...with slight oc on R520...and the 7800GTX couldn't do that with a 3.6ghz FX-55 and 500+/1400+ clocks.

Yes R520 speculation should not be mixed with G70 actual numbers, but there's a reason ppl have such high expectations ;)

The cold bug problem could be caused by the manufacturing process? Or it has to do with the chip design?, I mean, maybe Ati skipped 110nm for their highend parts because they knew the possibility of a coldbug.

s600 looks like a nice one, too luxurious (and expensive) for me :)

M3 small? Z3 has 2 seats and I'm lucky to even fit Vapochill LS into trunk :D

Like I already told to OPPAINTER Rivatuner has a secret G70 support. To unlock it you can add the following line to [GPU_10DE] section of RivaTuner.cfg:

NV47 = 90h-9Fh

I could raise the clock speeds with Rivatuner for example to 550/1400 but I faced SERIOUS performance drop (3DMark05 GT1 16 fps...). Let me know if it works for you. I think the problem is related to GPU temperature sensor and throttling. Temperature monitor in drivers won't show below 31C :(

Yes they do have a cold bug, We had to be very careful with LN2 dosage. We could run our FX-55 CPU (0512 San Diego) at 3575 MHz when the temperature of copper container's base was around -60C.

Luckily my friend Kamu has the best LN2 wrist in the world and he kept load temps within 1 Celsius! :toast:
