Well they're already taking factory drop ships now. So it looks like they will be out as soon as AMD officially announces it. :D
Available in the UK tomorrow supposedly??? £700+
 I just added some numbers - AMD usually updates the FX series in half year steps, FX-55 is ~$900, FX-57 ~$1,300.Quote:

But maybe we'll see a price drop one day - depending on what INTEL will do........
:toast:
Official launch is this Monday, June 27. Coincidentally, the first day of AMD's fiscal Q3.
Anand made reference to it (being next week) in his blog.

Lots, Part I - Wednesday, Jun 15, 2005 11:45 PM
Lots to talk about, so let's not waste any time :)
Two big launches coming in the next two weeks; well one big one next week, and one not so big one the following week.

As I sit here working on the next speed-bump CPU review, trying to somehow make it interesting for you all, I figured I'd just pop in and ask.

And the GD hardware review listed that specific date.

AMD continues to raise the bar in performance – both in dual core with its recent X2 chip and now once again in the single core design with its pending FX-57 launch due on June 27th.
no need to be nosy could some one pm me why opb was mad...cuz i wanna know, if ya don't feel like it...ahh ok
OPB please have respect. Don't put your historical problems between Coolaler.com and you in this forum.
I definitely believe that is not a fake... you must know. 2800Mhz 1.4v and 3000Mhz 1.4v is a very descent OC for the FX-57, nothing special about this.
I am glad WWM put this kind of information to show us some stuff only available in Azie ;)
i think its just a FX55 recodded as a FX57
Its a Chinese bootleg chip LOL
OPB do you agree? You are from ASIA arent you

I just read this article in The Inquirer:
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=24160
"One improvement that was expected was a boost in the memory controller speed to 533MHz up from 400MHz. Now that opens the door to a certainty. AMD has confirmed that FX will move to DDR2 memory in the "future". When asked, whether it was a near future or a distant one, the representative, Teresa, said probably next year."
Can anybody confirm the 533 Mhz controller?? That would be very interesting indeed.
Wow, one of the first Inquirer articles that I've ever read that contains facts which are true  ;)Quote:

It must be DDR-1, as the pinout and socket need to change for DDR2.Quote:

So, does the FX-57 have a 533MHz memory controller, or not?
If it's NDA, do you really think you'd get an answer here? ;)
I just saw the FX57 listed under my distributor. Looks like its going to cost 1050 dollars

Do you think they'll also enable that for E6 Venice and San Diego, coming in July?
