Now that's more like it!
How big is the hit if you overclock straight up from BIOS instead of booting at 200 and using clockgen?
need to clock some 50MHz higher or so. Depending on memspeed. w/ 5:4 I can in some cases reach almost the same performance cos it makes it possible to use a bit higher memspeed.Quote:

The first very quick cascade run (w/ 350W PSU mind you :D) maxed at around 3350MHz so that would mean 11x305 5:4 for optimal 3D speed.
I saw 982FPS in Lobby low at 295x11 (3248MHz) so 999 aint that far away. Couldn't run higher than 295 bus now since was useing a unmodded 350W test PSU which only gave a memvoltage of 3.25V.
I'll take the camera, better PSU and some extra insulation for the next run :)
whaiting for yor pics macci...
i have choose a 740, i hope i can hit 3ghz 3d-stable with my home made single stage...
Lovly macci, WTG! :DQuote:

Macci and this chip have really rekindled my interest in Intel. Shame they spent all that time chasing marketing MHz for prescott and did not put more $$ into these.

Andy
Yep, it worked. With Nvidia card (6200), My system is perfectly stable at 250+Mhz. Time for more testing...Quote:

3.3 on Dothan is frkn sick :slapass: . Any chance of showing us some Sisoft benchmarks like cpu score @ 3.3
Realy intresting to see how your 3d01 score will compare to A64 scores with same VC clocks.
Anyhow awesome job on that 3.350, that's more then 100% overclock :woot:

Just for the record...999FPS Peak FPS has been reached in Mark2001SE (it only took 3280MHz) :D
Congrats :toast:Quote:

A -100C autocascade wow  I didn't even know such things existed.
Macci, do not tell your friends at Futuremark you hit 999 in lobby low, they will use it as another excuse to try and kill of 3dmark2001. :D For the result :toast:
Good luck Charlie, good luck macci.

Here is a Lobby low run where I was at 999fps for several seconds :D
(the other score is from OPP's #1 ATI run):

Dothan 1.6 @ 3.3GHz (300x11) for that.
Nice one :toast:
Unfortunately I haven't had time to play with my CT-479 + P4C800-E combo yet :(
but looks like it should be plenty of fun :)
Are you ready?

I was mainly running superpi today but did some quick 3d-tests with low card speed. Also had quite a wierd problems with the mobo / RAM and didn't manage to get a single decent full 3D-benchmark. One minute the board would do 310 5:4 and the other it would fail even at 295 - at one point didnt even load windows => changed RAM sticks and the problem went away. I'll probably try with the Golden P4C800-E next (this run was done useing the same old trashed P4C800).
Also had a terrible evap. contact (As can be seen from the pics...). BIOS temps were around -35C w/ full voltage...evap was at -81C :D
one full run was all I got and its at low CPU speed as I was testing the max 1:1 for this board / RAM:
Dothan @ 12x258 2-2-2-5, video 533/550 => 37485
That would be around 41.5-42k with full card speed - at 3.3GHz it shouldn't be too far from the top spots.
overclockers PRON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MACCI, what's yout feel on the frost on the board? IMO, if the frost is simply on the pcb like that I haven't had problems... if it gets under electrolytic cap's then I've had melt-downs.
C
Very impressive macci!
lol, overclocker's pr0n indeed. :slobber:
Ricky tweak a go with these procs? Is DX9 really quicker than DX8.1 with Intels?
I really like the dothan.. a dothan @ 3Ghz with some sli action would be fun to watch!
Macci; good luck with the P4C800 tweaking/clocking..
blah..I remember my old P4C800-E Deluxe board, it managed 350Mhz FSB 3:2.. and 5:4 at 325Mhz or something.. ofcourse I managed to kill it..
offtopic: Does anyone know a i915 tweaker for mu dothan?!?
back to the topic: great job you guys... go for the big numbers!!
Good to see the cascade back in action.
Someone give Macci a better PSU ;)
i will gladly send him my neopower 480w...but im sure he doesnt need it :D
