You need to understand that XS is NOT a place where everybody comes just to trade. This is one of a kind Forums and Classfieds access is sort of a priviledge. It's not [H] (nothing against them) where you sign up and boom, you're trading (at least it used to be like that, not sure if still is, though...)

Look around, please. We want you to contribute to our community not just use it or take from it ;)

So the 100 post rule should be dropped because it prevents people from taking advantage of noobies? That's just one of the many reasons it is in effect and a ridiculous arguement for dropping it. :shrug:

youtr right it doesnt matter who it comes from. but it does matter when your trying to sell a $900 CPU or buy one and someone rips you off. 100 posts keeps trolls away better.

If payment is through Paypal and a bank account is being used with a confirmed address (not a credit card), the transaction is as good as cash delivered straight to your hands. This would only be the case if a veteran member is selling to a noobie (not vice versa.)

I think that anyone should be able to browse the For sale forum, reply to threads, and purchase stuff, but you should have to have 100 post to be able to start a new thread.

Reason behind this. The seller can't get ripped off. Just the buyer.

Now as I would like to sell some cooling stuff, It is strange that you need this many post..

I mean I understand but somebody who is just looking to sell will post anything just to get to 100 post :(

haha I really really need to get to 100 posts. It's very true 100 posts keep trolls away. Like in ocforums they have the same policy. So less trolls. Unlike hardforums...and anandtech........................

edit: argh just noticed I'm only at 65

As has been stated time and again, these rules are set in place to protect the members of the forums. They have been debated on time and again with members and staff alike. They are there and they will not be changing. Your best bet is to either accept it and contribute here until you read 100 posts or deal elsewhere. ;)

I've been on these forums forever and only have 64 posts or so...haha. I see some people that have been here a few months and have over 100- SPAM!

I guess I just read a lot and only post when necessary. By searching I can find almost any answer I need so I rarely am forced to actually ask a question. Because of this, I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get to 100 posts until 2006.
