i haven't taken the heatspreader off mine yet, but i would assume this geil value stick has to have UTT. Too bad my bios only let's me max vdimm at 2.8 :(

Is this UTT ?

I think its not because, they cant run at 2-2-2-X with any voltage (a try 3.2V). They run only at 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.8V.
it seems to have the requisite dots on the IC, but if it won't do 2-2-2-, and can't even do 2-3-2-x or 2-2-3-x then i guess it's not very good UTT, or not UTT. it is UnTesTed after all.
the two metal "tabs" on the end of the chips look too small to be UTT aswell.
your right actually...hynix?
no, hynix has 4 metal dots on the side.
i've seen that ic several times and i'm not sure what that is.
that is utt for sure, give it mo' juice!
Gogogo mushkin redline, definately UTT.
Try to boot at 2-2-2-5 with 2.6~3.0VQuote:

Well, what's the best BH/CH-UTT RAM out there?
I'm a gamer, and I know games/3d apps benefit more with low latencies other than high frequencies. My first is goal is 250Mhz 1.5-2-2. 270 2-2-2 would be nice too. Brainpower PCB is a plus too.
- What's better, CH-UTT or BH-UTT?
- Punisher! said on his thread that the Mushkin Redline XP4000 as other RAM's are based on a new production BH-5. Is he reffering to BH-UTT? And AFAIK MushkinXP4000 is based on CH-UTT and that's what make it the hottest RAM right now?
Thanks a lot.
Regards :)
REDLINE is all you should know.
My hp3200 does 260mhz@3.4v
You won't be able to tell any difference in games between RAM with 33ns latency (low latency, high speed RAM) from 50ns (~stock).Quote:

Eh? My Geil runs 2-2-2-5 @ 200MHz at 2.75V stable in windows, memtest pass.Quote:

No, but it can be UTT BH-5 ;)
my friend's set does 240 2-2-2-5Quote:

Nah, see on the sides of each IC? Theres 2 metal dots on that one. If its UTT it would have 2 metal streaks ;)Quote:

well i have this Geil Value stuff that everyones talking about but im abit of a n00b at this memory overclocking stuff.
I have all the right numbers/serial code/manufacturing date on these modules but one thing im not sure off is i have 4 solder balls at the end of each of the module chips on my ram.
my question is what chips are these and how far do you think they would go?
also what is required to push these over the 200mhz mark??
thanks guys!
That's not UTT. :(Quote:

iirc Samsung chips have 4 dots. But really, they could be anything.
Do they look like this?
Try 2.5-4-4-X and 2.8V.
well at the moment they are running at 200Mhz at 2.5-3-3-6 at stock volts.
Any suggestions to push them further?
EDIT: yes they do look like the link that you have provided even tho i havent taken the heat spredders off. but yes they have 4 solder balls.
atanum141,
For some reason, your avatar really disturbs me. :wth:
