Early days yet though, more testing to do :)
Now trying higher HTT's....9 x 304 so far at 1.53v prime95 stable 1:1 !!
I'm getting very, very excited over these procs. Mine will be here tomorrow from ZZF and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
yeah me too, mine should ship tonight, so I'm guessing it'll be here on friday, but my mobo is dead (rmaing it, still hanv't shipped it out tho) so I won't beable to try my processor out untill sometime next week at the earliest :(
Good news tho, I'm working on my phase changer and plan to have it done this weekend, so I'll hopefully have it ready in time for this processor
I'm aiming for 3.2ghz, what are the chances of me hitting that, stable that is.
DAMN!!!!!Quote:

very true, I have (or will soon have) all the things u listed except for the x800xl, couldn't wait for them to come out so I got a 6600GT, now I'm debating wether to sell it to get a x800xl or use eVGA's step up program to upgrade to a 6800GT..Quote:

UGH!!! I did it.... I couldnt take the 10x270 @1.45..................... :slobber:

wow good to know how consistent these cpus are!
ok guys we need a name for these things.... So far we have Super Calw and Sledgeclaw. Or houw about ClawCastle
I like SuperClaw.
OK this is how I look at the name. The entire family comes under the sledgehammer umbrella (3HTs 1MB of L2 cache dual channel) as initially that was what the whole family was called and all other cpus whether clawhammers or Newcastles didnt have something the sledge didnt. By that I mean all other cpus merely has one or more things disabled or reduced to make them. The Clawhammer didnt have 3HTs for example and socket 754 didnt have dual channel.
So these cpus are firstly Clawhammers (1 HT) but turned to 512KB of L2 cache on the 130nm (i.e become Newcastles of sorts). So they are either Newhammers or Clawcastles!
Are you guys sure that it's worth paying nearly $300 for a chip that performs very closely to many ~$150 Winnies ???
still waiting to see how one of these chips does on -50c cooling or more.
There's some consistency, and IMO that's worth paying for. I paid $200 for a 3200+ Winchester that only did ~2300. I'd gladly pay $266 for something that has much more consistency in overclocking.Quote:

Winnie's mem controller can't handle high vdimm. The 3.5v I need to run my VX at DDR520 will destroy it quick fast and in a hurry. A clawhammer core can handle the vdimm easily. So for me, yes it's worth it.Quote:

Sorry guys for off-topic but I just couldn't let that one slide :DQuote:

No offense, but I really wonder where do you get such information from...
I've had my Winnie @ 276x10 DDR552 6-2-2-2.0-1T 3.8v and 345x8 DDR690 7-3-4-2.5-1T 3.1v fully benchable... 3.7v is a brisk for this setup! so I don't know where do you get such information from
As far as nomenclature is concerned, I like to take a back seat to most of those types of discussions, but I couldn't help but think it should just be a Clawhammer.
Take a look at:
http://www.c627627.com/AMD/Athlon64/
We know that there exists a 2800+ Clawhammer on the 754 that has 512kb L2 Cache... this CPU is essentially the same thing. So, I take the stance that there is no need for a name change and that this CPU is simply what it is, a Clawhammer.
