If so and it has 2 cores you will see some very puzzled faces on macci, Fugger and Opp when they present their single gpu cascades !

Maybe they can move them very quickly between the cores ?

i put 5 buck on Macci because is past accomplishment (first to got 10k in 01....first to get 10k on 03 with is 9800XT!!)

I never heard of two x850 gpus on one pcb, it may either be a normal x850xt which OPP has but most never even seen or the new r520. If its amr or dual core, both cascades can go to the gpu and the cpu will just run off air cooling, 2005 doesnt need any real cpu power and 2001 will do fine even if the gpu is air cooled, its so cpu intensive

I dont think it will be an x800xt geforceti4200.... seeing as how they have been out forawhile now, and it says a never before seen card.

most likly some R520's.

I'm guessing Abit mobo (sponsor :p: ) with PCI express on it. The R520 Card, choice of OCZ/ kingston RAM and a availability of OCZ DDR boosters.
HyperX 500+ PSU's available, AMD 64, handpicked winchester cores maybe.

My guess for the hardware is: ATI Radeon X850 XT PE, ATI RS480 reference motherboard and some Kingston PC4400 DDR memory ;)

I already offered my Athlon 64 FX-55, Asus A8N SLI, 2 x GeForce 6800 GT @ Ultra setup to macci :D

Lets see how it goes but I'm very pessimistic about R520.

Abit just came out with their new NF4 boards so I bet it will be those. Maybe someone can bring a wifi laptop and just keep posting the results as they go :toast: Anyway I am really excited about the pre-event battle. This weekend should be great. Good luck OPP and Fugger. On a personal note this should keep Fugger too busy to worry about the D2OL stats :D

This is truly a battle of the titans....

Macci has to be the world's greatest OVERCLOCKER, he's had experience with everything and if it has transistors, he's OC'ed it...

OPP is just 3D Master backed up with super-cold PCICE hardware.... noone know how to coax more 3DMarks.

FUGGER is consistent and always seems to deliver the big numbers.... often with specialized hardware. The Chilly1 hardware will kick azz, too.

8058 is not a bad score, 750/678 is some very nice gpu clocks, this is better than your x800 ramwise but 50MHz worse corewise. Hows it do in nature in 2001? does the extra ram make up for 50MHz less core since ram matters more anyway?

I just started overclocking the card. I have used very little voltage. I'm expecting 850 core from this card.

I think 2001 is poor with the card. All I did was test nature real quick. It gave me the same score as a 520/560 800xt, but this card is higher so there is a problem with 2001.

perhaps the ram timing for the x850xt are looser? didnt kingpin have the same problem? I used to own a 9800pro that was 3fps slower in nature vs. other 9800pros, I figured I got one with lax ram timing. Have you set everything in ati tool to high performance? also have you given the newest cat 5.2 a try? Maybe those are the fix :D

wow great going OPP! thats gonna be close to what some with sli are getting too! gonna have time for a 2001 run tonight perhaps? I see you didnt last night. Hopefully you can resolve the gpu's ram timing issues and get high clocks to muscle ahead in nature :D

yesterday, i was almost gonna say this is going to be a repeat of the 9800XT thing... where people maxed out at 600mhz core, then you, and a few others, somehow pulled up to ~650mhz to get that 30.5-31.3k score.

but now, it's apparent this card is obviously just gonna give you whatever you want. ;)
