I guess he would tell us if he could but somehow I doubt it :( But maybe by the time this comes out I will have all my money saved to get all the right parts.
just saw this today and i'm glad i didn't jump headfirst into the upgrade path...looks like the kids will be getting this set up (epox) about mid summer (hopefully)...
UPdate. the msi rs480M2 finally shipped from monarch. Apparently there was a massive recall on the boards. I am not sure why, but something was wrong. Monarch told me they were given the red flag yesterday, but msi rep said the early boards didn't have the right bios or something bios related. also the early ones didn't have oc options in the bios, however they heard the new ones do. i am getting the updated one. It will be here friday. I wonder if it's possible to flash it to the bullhead bios? that would rule! we'll know soon. Can someone with a msi contact find out what happened? ALso see if you can snag a beta bios for me.
Because that's what it stopped at?Quote:

I find his testing quite valuable in so much as we get to see what X modules are capable of in those two board threads you refer to in previous post. Since NF3 was rather weak and selective in it's memory choice it's nice to see so many modules performing well in NF4/480. If he's pimping OCZ, well, what do can you expect? We all know the modules they use, he even says so, and can trivially go with a competitors module. It's just cool to see these tests.
Another thing is LL beats bandwidth always in A64 setups..so even if he showed 315 with crap 3-4-4 I would'nt be too excited at all. 260 2-2-2 or 265 1.5-2-2 would crush it in every benchmark but sisuck.
Cool trans keep us posted, and the beta bios flash would be fun for you to play with, just like bigtoe :)
Did your board come in Trans ?
msi is saying there was no recall...
Actually, I think the first batches were the best if they did work. It was common to see one stick doing 250-265 for me. As I went into RMA cycle for non working units, it was hard to find anything that easily goes over 250 like it used to (that is around 2nd batch) One pair I have (well coming back to me now) is one of very first batch and it does 270 2-2-2-5 1T 3.6v. (not 100% stable but enough to play with)Quote:

You guys are a credit to the enthusiast industry.
I just did a little more looking around and I have a question.
Are there any major differences between this beta board and the one reviewed here back in November?
For those that have this ATI board, please tell me ATI will use their Red PCB on the final versions instead of this green crap... please :)
happy days ahead heheQuote:

Yah I heard the MSI had Zero OC options, I guess this one is more for the business side , this sounds like nothing that bigtoe and Grayskull are touting. Lets hope to hear some more concrete news on this wonderboards soon, like who is making them and when they will be out.
so what is it   :banana4: :banana4:   :banana4: :toast:  :stick: :stick: :( :slobber: :toast: :toast:
