Also another Note:
In talking with sysfailur He told me he had these Purple caps on his PNY 4600, and said that card didnt OC at all..
His card is like the one posted Above (1st post on pg3). But my card has Purple and Black caps.. So i guess its time for testing.. :)

YAY 4 Purple Caps.. just ran a full 3dmark bench at 310.4/648 Low Level in riva and scored 12,509 3dmark2k1se pts..
i didnt link it, as i wanna try to go higher. :)
Ok, it sounds like you've reached and surpassed Ti4600 speed (at least in core), now lets see if you can take her higher.. :)

well ill try again tonight, but my new card w/ the purple caps artifacts at (memory) 661mhz (next step up in riva tuner from 648)
So ill try the core, then ill try vmodding the vmem.
If the core wont do more then 310 ill probly try and send it back and get a 4600. This is a waste of money trying to get one that oc's good. ive wasted alot of time as well..

It's not a bios problem,but different hardware(maybe).
I've tried the new bios too...always 310@640,bear in mind
that i've changed the core/mem voltage.

Next step? You know you can change the accuracy, right? Currently I've got RivaTuner 2.0 in accuracy mode "High". It will give me 1Mhz steps, and it works fine. (on the low-level overclock screen, press "More").Quote:

Looking for a thred like this a long time. Im sitting on a Alb, purple caps samsung mems. I bought this after looking on the reviews (310/700) u know that stuff..
Im currently on 305/340, impretty satisfied with that but my prob is this... If im running my core at 250, I can run my mem at 670 w/o artifacts.. But any core over 280+ will get my mem bogin out at 640/650 ish... thats pretty annoying ,,, It feels like something is wrong..

Im just goning crazy over the thing that i can have pretty nice mem speeds when not o/c the core but eith the core o/c the mem wount do as good...

I noticed that the review of the Albatron GF4 Ti4200P Turbo I read at guru3d.com (they reached 310/730 without mods) had pictures of the RAM, and it was definitely not Samsung. Here's a link to the module:

I'd say that Albatron moved from Etrontech to Samsung, and that's the reason why the cards clock like crap. Just a guess from my side, but I'd bet that if you found cards with EtronTech-RAM, you'd be able to clock the RAM past 700Mhz.
I'm still bummed that I can't get my RAM to reach even 600Mhz (3.6ns Hynix modules), but that's different card. I can get the core to 310 (I've benched at 325) but the RAM just won't go past 575 without artifacts. Voltmod and ramsinks next on my list.

well i WAS suppose tp get the Etrontech ram, but my hookup sent me the wrong freaking card so im really pissed off :(
I got both nVidia and ATI (6 machines total) and your driver point is non-valid - all of my different ATI run flawessly - drivers are released frequently and ATI people are interacting in the forums at least...Quote:

The 9500 Pro OC's like mad now - not too far from 9700 pro and given the cost of the card, I see no reason of buying a geforce4 :D

ati's arent much faster.. not worth the $ to me.
just bec u have had no issues dont mean others wont. the 9700 pro was all messed up when it came out, and peeps still have trouble w/ it.
Hey, I got my part of troubles with my geforce4 - especially with the drivers...Of course, people have troubles, there will always be...why another $200? the 9500 pro can be found at a price close to the TI4200 Albatron POS and the hardware got hella more features...

Anyway the card uses Samsung memory,IMHO there are
also other factors for the bad OC of the new card's batch...maybe
caps?...i'm still investigate...
