Sigh this freaking sucks, now my OCZ 520W just went POP when I turned my comp on. Great now I have a crappy mobo + CPU, no more seal string + dead PSU.
Just my farking day!

As for the cold boot issue i see it still plaugues a few people as i'm sure it will me once i waste more time seal stringing up my rig. Good news is i am picking up my new parts from Fedex today and i'll have them back under the mach in the next few days. I ordered a new neo2 and a new 3200+ retail so maybe with new silicon i can get something to work. Sorry to hear some of you are still having issues :(
This just worries me on OCZ PSU. I've had exact same thing happening on my first unit. Even letting it rest won't help you. Call OCZ get RMA. Maybe you might wanna grab some other PSU like I did... Enermax 660W... woot :)Quote:

You wouldn't beleive how great OCZ RMA is. I messaged OCZ support 30 mins ago and 7 messages from Sean Singha later I already have a new 520W being advance shipped to me. Talk about awesome RMA service.
And I'm just going to sell my 3500+ 90nm now god damn thing. And I'm going to buy either a FX53 or FX55. Whichever I can get (I'll buy FX53 if I can get it cheap :P)
Well atleast I can count on places like OCZ and NewEgg to always cover me in case something I spend cash on goes nuts.
After some tests with vcore max, vdimm max, and LS boot temp at +5ºC, I tryed with all default too see how it goes...Quote:

No fan on cpu header (it doesn't pass post with a fan plugged)

Vdimm default in bios (can select anything, it doesn't crash)
HTT default (can select anything, that cpu can do)
Vapo LS booting system at -30ºC (can select anything, it doesn't crash)
Now I have vcore mod and DDR Booster running, and have no problems too.
One fact is that with an earlier bios, i tryed to install windows and it crashed in the middle. After reprograming with 1.4B1 bios, I continue the earlier installation instead starting a new one, and was like this that I have my windows system installed. Probably doesn't mean anything, but we must be aware with all possibilities that could make some difference in the final result....
I have had same result in my system. got through what seemed like a partial install, and it died. could not go further. Now that my CPU is back from RMA I installed the new bios, and that same partial install is now complete ????Quote:

The board itself is relativaly old being from the second shipment to monarch. Mt issue now is I cant get my ram stable at speeds where is was stable with my old newcastle.
yeah the Winchesters seem to have that problem sometimes....maybe more voltage to your RAM? Who knows....just need to wait for that to be fixed, plus the cold boot issues and these things will be doing unheathly high overclocks  lol

Abit AV8 with a Winnie 3500 & MachII up and RUNNING!!
still working on stability, but she posted @ 300x10...

BUT, the combo isnt stable - for example even at default I get freezing and reboots sometimes, and I have has to reinstall the OS about 5 times in 2 weeks as after a couple of days i just get a dos error at boot.
Basically I have had enough - I have a Neo4 NF4 Ultra, PCI Express 6600GT and Newcastle 3500 on order, along with 1Gb of OCZ 3200 Platinum Rev2 and all the stuff I have is going to be sold.
Wouldn't the temp problem seem to be in the One Die temp sensor of the CPU itself?
if some CPU's are getting to Zero C and then shooting right to 40C, that to me sounds more like a issue with the On Die temp sensor.
maybe AMD just made it so it can't read sub zero temps?
Uhhh Neo4 is in sale? Looking forward to hearing from you on the result :P And Joe... the sad thing is... my newcastle not only posts, but primes at 3ghz atm. I just don't know if it is worth the trouble now with winchester until something final comes up. Will just keep checking here to see more "success" story. NF4 sounds good as long as I don't have to reinstall OS again... bah... takes me too long with all the junk I put in.
my trusty local e-tailer here in the UK has the Neo4 and A8N-E Premium on pre-order, should be arriving sometime next week hopefully.
Actually I just changed my mind and ordered the A8N instead - check how purdy it looks, and the tasty MOSFET cooling :slobber:

Is it me or do the winnie's not respond well to subzero temps as well as every other chip? Seems like everyone is only getting like 200mhz extra or less on phasechange.
Do your install once and make a ghost image of it. Then it only takes a few minutes to do reinstalls and all your stuff is already there.Quote:

well i just bought the 3500 Newcastle, arriving tomorrow and will try that with the Asus, give i one last chance to play nice, otherwise I will get a Neo2 to tide me over until the NF4 boards appear and people start reporting their success (nor not) with the 0.09 core.
TBH I should have done this in the first place
I have to agree. There's just no excuse for this gigantic a POS to be sold with a straight face. I finally just decided to RMA for a refund, donate my 15%, and wait for the next round of boards. Guess it's time to go pci-e.Quote:

For me these revision of cpu do not work under Phase Cooling....or they work badly.
With my Winchester under Vapo LS i have seen 3Ghz!!! But not stable over 2700Mhz!!!
Now my Winny is under Water Cooling and it's perfect all day at 2800Mhz with only 1.75v vcore and water +15°c
You guys are worrying me now...
I have just ordered a 90nm 3500+ to go on my (pre-ordered) Asus A8N-SLI motherboard. I am planning on using my Vapochill to cool it. It's only a baby model Vapochill (the SE version - 130W heat removal) - will I run into problems or do you think Asus will have sorted this when my board is released? I'd only cool it down to like -10C or something...
Nope. :) I just add the right drivers to my system before I create the image. I'm going to have to talk the guy that made my sysprep into releasing this to the public. It would help out you guys BIG TIME! Windows will actually do a mini-setup and redetect all the new hardware AND install the right drivers. :) All your programs are unaffected and function normally. I've been using this method for a couple of years now and it works great!Quote:

Slap me on that one. Yeah there is that way. I just don't like that idea too much as it seems to put additional things on windows. Don't worry, I know how to do it but not for my rig as I belive in clean install is the best way to go. (I think most of us do, even using driver cleaner for rather small changes :P)Quote:
