It might be tough to make out, so:
Asus A8V (awesome board indeed)
FX 53
X800 Pro (already modded to 16 pipes and under the TEC:) )
1 Gig of Corsair XL 2.0-2-2-5
It's all up and running and under the Mach II.
The memory does at least up to 215 at 2.0-2-2-5 1T...haven't tried for more yet.
Hafta work now....benches tonight.
Thanks!! Dissabling 2T helpped a bunch!!Quote:

mdzcpa, what were the codes on your core ?
Specifically the lines like this:

I'll pull the pelt and take a pic of the core when I get home from work tonight. I saw your thread just now...I'll add my numbers to the list.Quote:

BTW, I heard the gigabyte x800 had "a better chance" to be modded...that's why I chose it. Hopefully someone else can confirm shortly.
This looks to be the max I can go without mods and finish spi. Tried 236 x12.5 but would only get though 15 loops.
excellent... and your cooling is: ??

It's on an LS Charlie. You should really do well on DI or cascade.
mdzcpa
Glad to see you back at XS my friend:)

My last Prescott project ran 32s @ 4271mHz
If you could loop 15x @ 3gHz+ then I'm sure it'd be 3D stable on your LS at about 3030mhz.... very nice :D

my a8v is here! now where is that damn fedex guy with my case and my 3500+:D
Yeah, I'm a happy man atm. I'm going to try the vdimm mod later today and see how high I can get the fsb. Right now I'm starting to think that the locks are functional despite the lack of control in the bios. After that I'll try to figure out the vcore mod, but my electronics skills are pretty rusty.
what chip do you have pkrew?
and what voltage?
have any of you guys done any testing with win64 beta? from the sound of a poster yesterday about the buggy drivers that they support that OS even tho its not spec'd in the manual.
Some info from Jason on A8V volt mods. LinkQuote:

Its a OEM FX53 I picked up from gameve. I don't remember the stepping, but I'll look at it next time I tear it down.Quote:

I have it set at 1.8v. It seems to undervolt a tad. mbm reads 1.79v. cpu-z fluctuates between 1.72-1.808v.
Thanks, that does the vdimm. I need to know what resistor for the vcore.Quote:
Try the one I posted, see what happens:DQuote:

Another review of the A8V. Link
Will they be selling a stripped down version of this board without all the junk ? Wireless crap and such ?
It may be that I just got a bad board, but this A8V is the biggest POS board I have ever owned. 90% of the time I can't even get any bios to save any settings. My Fx53/940 blows this away so far. I may try one more to give it a chance, but it doesn't look good. :( Trouble is there isn't much choice right now)
I'll take a look at it OPP :DQuote:

Also, Asus tech support called me back. They told me that they had some stability issues with the pressent bios, but needed to get the board to market and so they took out the lock in the bios. He said the the next release will have that feature back in.
Beautiful.... we'll all look for that future BIOS then.Quote:

And about your 12.5 x 235 OC, that's a more than decent 1:1 OC...no BIOS corruption? What VC? What HDD?
C
I'm running it right now with a ati 9800np and using a highpoint 1520 sata raid adapter with 2 74G raptors. I was going to try the promise controller, but everytime I tried to load windows it said I didn't have any drives in the system. I didn't have the via raid driver on floppy. I'll try that again later
Edit: no bios corruption at all. Have one bank interwieve set to enabled, the other set to auto and using 1t setting.
