Ahuh.
So, what kind of BH-5 RAM is still for sale, and what kind of chips are used in OCZ EL 3500/4000?
yes I have just read the last sentence lol, I should rather go to sleep :DQuote:

lets assume winbond made a small series of bh4, but it was too expensive to make it in a large series and the memory manufacturers didnt realize the potential of the chips (it was before the bh5 hype) and thougt the chips were too expensive, so winbond still had this small series of bh4 chips. so what were they going to do with it? throw them away? maybe they used some of them and relabeled them as bh5 to be able to sell them?
the overclocks obtained with those chips are not that spectacular, but remember it was very early bh4! so it could be true... what do you think?
You need to go to bed a bit earlier... :)
Yep... I agree ;) :p:Quote:

i would say an average to good stick :)
thx a lot for sharing :)
...BUT to be able to add it to the database you will either have to take the heatspreaders off or give me the aida32 reading ;)
383% efficency ?
Ok we'll do,but a can't bench nomore with that 3200+ becaus he's dead:(,and i was'nt finisht benchen,so i have to wait on a new cpu or/and mobo,i don't no yet if the mobo is also dead.Quote:

I have 2 sticks of BH-5 ram
one is kingston hyper-x 3000/512mb's
marked: 0305 p01
D328DW-45
and the other is from unknown manufacturer, 256mb's and onesided stick
marked:
247WE
W942508BH-5
overclocking:
tested on friends dfi nf2 ultra infinity
kingston 240 cpc off 2-2-2-7
and 256mb's 245 cpc on/off i don't know and also 2-2-2-7
I have nf7-s mobo with barton 2600 (unlocked) and both bh-5 stick don't overclock well.
with 256mb's stick i can't get stability at any fsb and with corsair it isn't stable even at 200fsb
look's like i have a bad mobo.
and this is my first post @ xtremesystems forum :toast:
thx a lot mazyk! and welcome to XtremeSystems :D :toast:
about the kingston stick, since its relabeled memory, can you give me the aida32 info about it?
and you forgot to tell me how much vdimm you used :)
and the kingston did 240 and the no name 245? both on an nf2, right?
and the no name stick, what was it? 3200?
UPDATE: i changed the color scheme, not all sticks with a high oc are now marked as blue, but instead ive now taken the vdimm into consideration as well. :)
i can't give u aida info because my friend still has it in his mobo and i have his mushkin 3200 222 special 2×256 stick (bh-6 chips) and it is funny, on his motherboard this memory overclocks to 250 mhz with no problem and on my mobo it is not stable on 210! :(
he used 3,3V on vdimm and i also have Vdimm mod on my nf7-s and i also run 3,3V. but, my board sucks. with bh-5, bh-6 it doesn't overclock for nothing but with my GEIL pc3200 value DC kit overclocks to 225 stable on 2.5-3-3-11 and highest clock I achieved with them was 236 but highly unstable.
noname stick is rate as ddr400 cl2,5.
i have to change my mobo, very soon, maybe i will wait for a mont or two and then buy a DFI lanparty UT nf3 250gb + athlon 64 . i hope that will overclock a little better than this nf7-s
edit: noname bh-5 stick tested with cpc on @245
updates on my KHX3000/512
2.0-2-2-x 2.90v 220mhz
2.0-2-2-x 3.00v 225
2.0-2.2-x 3.10v 230
2.0-2-2-x 3.20v 235
omg so linear now...
all CPC off...
next is 2.0-2-2-x 3.3v 240 then "BURN IN" needed...lol

yeah that sounds like a crappy board. a modded bios might help, but not enough to not make it worth to upgrade to an a64... :)Quote:

yeah, thats how most bh5 scales, 5mhz per.1vQuote:

UPDATE:
im adding statisctics to the database, check out the first page :)
im open for improvements, let me know :)
saaya...i tried many different bioses. tictacs, trats, merlins. cpc on and off.
with winbond memory it just doesn't want to overclock but with geil it is pretty cool.
i also tested friends hyper-x khx3500/256 (probably ch-5 chips) and the overclock to 235 & 245fsb. (he had 2 sticks). i really don't know what is the problem with my board.
is it an older board? i heard the older nf2 boards had problems running tight timings at a high speed and would oc higher with 2.5-3-3 than with 2-2-2
he has same mobo i used to have abit nf7-s 2.0...
i was getting 215fsb easily with same ram i sold him :>
it's not that old. half a year, maybe more.
mazyk...go to "user cp" and write inside your system :>
jado :P
I have just tried khx3000/512 on my nf7.
fsb@200 and timings 2.0-2-2-7. the thing is not stable at all. cpc is on. i cannot boot into windows and memtest freezes in couple of seconds.
wtf is wrong?
my friend got 220fsb stable with cpc on. maybe bh-5 & nf7 hate each other?
