OK..proved that PS and ram is good. Ram is now running in my KX7333. Only thing left is mobo or cpu. Hope it's the mobo. I will switch my xp2200 to the KD7 next to see. What could have caused it to die like that after runing perfectly for 5 hours? The 2200 with 5th L3 closed should run in my KD7 without a prob, shouldn't it?
Yep...the 2200 unlocked should work just fine.
It sure is wierd though how something went bad on you. Definitely unsual for sure.
Ok..xp2200 would not post in KD7..put it back in KX7 and it's fine. That does not prove that the xp2400 is good, but to test it, I would have to unlock it and I don't want to do that because I got it to run in the KD7.
So...reasonably fair assumption that the mobo is bad. RMA time! At least I got it at Newegg, so should not be a problem (no modds). Just really hate having that rig down..maybe they will cut me a break on shipping or something to get it here faster.

Boy that does suck:( Wish I could think of another reason why your having the trouble. Most mobos undergo a good amount of burn it at the factory before they go out to catch just this sort of thing (a marginal mobo that dies a quick death shortly after first boot).
Keep us posted how things go.

Yeah, It booted with all multipliers available, but not as a 2400. I forget what it came up as, but I set it to 15x140=2000. Have you had any more problems with yours? Still runs hot? You put yours thru a pretty good workout, how's it holding up? I bought this mobo for the prom I ordered. I love the board...hardly had any time to play with it..hope next one does not fry and die!

Yeah sux bigtime. I just inched past JB with it running, then it died. Install went smooth as silk, no unlocking of the chip needed. Fired right up at 2100 and started folding..then croaked!
I hope it was a freak thing and does not happen again! OPP did say his sys temps were high...in the 40s c I believe...mine could have heated up during the night and blew something on the board I guess...kinda scary. No fear...will be back up and folding asap!:D

Has anyone written a Bios guide for the KD7 yet? Im mainly after something to help shed some light on the inner secrets with which settings cause grief and which ones are preferred. Im setting up the board with a brand new stick of ram and its been a bit of an experience (random reboots from windows with no explanation).
Also has anyone established the mem bus speeds this board is "actually" running at inside windows? I can only get 266 speeds with any mem bus settings (133:166:200). Performance in Sandra is only pc2100 equivalent as well (2000/1950 default speed).
Any info on this board and its intricities[sp?] would be appreciated :)

OPP, I believe the gap would be bigger with the radeon... that GF3 card is such a bottleneck that system speed cant make much of a difference in points. To give an exagerated example, I get the same scores with an MX420 wether I run at 3 GHz or 3.6 GHz, funny öööö ;)
With a 9700 you'll lose frames here and there in some places where you are not with the GF3 cos the card is just too slow... nonetheless i'm sure you'll get some nice scores out of her

last week that board was light brown/yellowish. now its a redish color.
i wonder if abit made a new rev of the kd7? cuz i know newegg ran out of stock, maybe abit released a updated verison?

Yep board seems to be actual read/orange, not a lighting thing.
New rev (except color) would be strange as via hasn't released the "new" KT400 (I believe CE stepping) yet?
Board seems to have the same layout as the KD7-raid (yellow board) on newegg site.
