The available multiplier range is limited by processor.
If you have an SSD plugged into the port SSATA5 that will interfere with the mSATA port. As port 5 and the mSATA port are on a switch, so you can use either or.
The Z77 PCH is actually rated at a 0.8W(either 0.8 or 0.6 i forget) TDP higher than the Z68, it runs hot like that, but isn't a big deal. I wouldn't worry about it. The PCH temp doesn't have much impact at all.
Has anyone else had any issue with the USB3 ports not working on the GA-Z77X-UD3H? The manual does mention some issues with windows 7 and the ports but as hard as I try I can only get the two USB next to the LAN port to work. The other 4 are dead in both BIOS and windows. It is quite annoying.
I flashed to F9 bios and also re-installed the Intel drivers but no change. Think I might try re-installing windows and if that doesn't work RMA....
Would be interested to know if someone else has had this issue?
Try F11a BIOS.
Be sure to have Intel and VIA drivers (both) installed for USB.
Thanks for the suggestion. Flashed to F11a but no luck. I believe Windows 7 installs the VIA drivers itself? I installed all motherboard drivers on the Gigabyte CD anyway.
I think I will try to reinstall windows with components plugged into different ports this time. You never know it may work!
Took my Sabertooth back, and got a UD5H (plus $50 refund). Hopefully this board will get my ram over 2350Mhz (I know the ram and IMC can do it).
Cant even get 2300Mhz on here. However, at 2275Mhz, with the same CPU speed (4.8Ghz), primary timings (10-11-11-25-1T), and most of the other timings the same or similar, the UD5H is 27 seconds faster at Spi32m then the Sabertooth.
Attachment 127045
Attachment 127046
UD5H F8d is out.
Thanks Stasio
Wonder if this is the BIOS to get the Samsung 30nm's running......... soon find out I suppose
Is the USB3 bootable with Z77 ?
Hello guys, i wanna report a shocking experience! Electricity went down and my pc shut. When i turned it on it wrote "Main bios corrupted" and it started loading the secondary bios. I updated to F7 and now it's running well. Anyone knows what could be done with the primary bios and how i can check it's status?
Its ok look at the bios chip lights & see if its still on bios chip 1. it just recovers the primary chip from the secondary.
Havent tried using just one stick yet. 2400/2600+ doesnt work for me regardless of voltages and timings, on this or a Sabertooth Z77. The first time I tried 2600Mhz on the Sabertooth it worked, and was Spi 1m stable, but locked up after wards and hasnt worked since.
About to buy a native 2400Mhz set and see what happens.
Tried one stick, no go even at 13-13-13-39-3T with 1.7V.
But,
Put my 2x2 Ballistix in, set to 10-10-10-30-3T with 1.75V just to see if it would at least post 2400Mhz, and it does
yea there is no XMP for the samsungs(that kit in particular) it needs and XMp profile, I asked for it.
BTW on the UD3H 4 of those parts for USB 3.0 are ran only on the VIA controller, it isn't a hub but rather a 4 port controller. The first two ports are direct intel USb 3.0 and the other 4 are VIA, and the VIA run faster.
Is one of the NICs on the UD5H and Intel one? There is a driver on the disc for an Intel NIC, but there is no marketing of it that I can find (like ASUS does).
anyone playing with the G1.Sniper 3 yet?
UD3H F11b is out.
