My guess would be $549.99 seeing that probably non-ref 2GB cards will be $529.99 - $539.99.

so does amount of boost rely on solely on temperature? or the percentage that you set in overclocking programs? or both
Hey Splave for my experience that aint big i have this cards since 2 weeks, i see some variations for ex mines are stable most of the time on +196 +540 and sometimes +200 but i dont know why as cards run very cool and have a sanyo denki san ace pointing to them, dunno when they throotle or when, i just know that
i read also that we are limited by 2x PCIe connectors, as SC ones are 8pin + 6 wich allows more power, my guess is that for me that i game and bench for fun its good the reference one, but if you are looking for extra points maybe grab this lasts ones is your best choice
good luck
cheers !

is there a review for the evga SC?
my RMA was finally finished and they gave me a refund. so now im questioning if i should pick up one of those if the VRM section is stronger and overclocks better.
i still have the water block installed on my loop cause its just not worth the effort to remove it and then again re-install it later.
what are you goals manicdan? 1150mhz core vs 1250mhz core didnt seem to make a huge difference to me
well the problem as ive been reading is that all reference based cards are still hardware limited to 1.175v
so i might not even care about the signature.
my last gpu before it killed itself did 1300ish on the core (all numbers are checked through precision or gpuz in games, not the value set). however it seems that almost anyone is being limited by the voltage. some chips are good overclockers and hit 1300+, others seem to crap out under 1200. if there was a way for people to not be so limited then we would see where cores really get limited at instead of just seeing them all being voltage limited.
at this point i think im just going to pick up the first 500$ 680 that comes into stock and just deal with it. although im probably going to stick with asus/evga or zotac. any opinions on what brands i should get or avoid?
Are you comfortable with a soldering iron? ;) I totally agree though, let these babies eat some volts! 45c in 3d11 on the twin frzr max load temp, I think it could handle a little more than 1.175v ;)
yes, i did a volt mod on a 9800 pro cooled by a 228w peltier
however 500$ is not "playing around" money any more
i read before that maybe it was possible to give it fake vid IDs with a custom bios, but im still waiting on that ship to also sink.
the perf for 500$ is fine, but the lack of fun makes me feel so un-xtreme.
i could sell the waterblock used, and probably for full price cause of how many people want one. and then just wait another month for non-reference cards and blocks. but i doubt that would give me any better perf/dollar, but it would be nice for 1500+ mhz on water.
Here is the best I could muster with Twin FRZR

Max temp is 45c lmao really nice stock cooler on it, hooked it up with water and still wouldnt budge anything over 1274mhz would lock up even while load temps were 34c.
I'll slap a vmod on it right now and see if that helps anything.
This is what I want to see because I will do the same to mine but with water cooling.
:D
Some picture please :yepp:Quote:

Anyone see this crash before:

I'm getting that in all games now. Pretty much have tried everything, set system overclock to default, removed precision X and ran GPU's at default, default NVIDIA control panel options, ran 4-way SLI, 1 GPU, Surround Mode, Single display mode, tried drivers: 301.10, 301.24, 301.25, PCI-E 2.0 mode, PCI-E 3.0 mode. They all crash. Wonder if those stupid multiple Direct X installs that Steam does every time a new game is installed screwed something up. Gah I don't feel like re-installing windows again.
sooo did the vGPU mod, and got +200 to pass on stock msi clocks of 1059mhz but scored the same. Need to do Power limit mods. Will try again this afternoon.
Same clocks more or less but with "stretched" screen. Looks like I'm voltage limited, temps are ok-ish for stock cooling i guess. I'm thinking water alone won't help much unless i go water+hard vmod.
Gotta love Zotac. EDIT : Splave, what VR did you use for vmod? I'm guessing you did only VGPU right?

@splave, you shouldnt need to force a higher power target unless you see it capped out at 132% and then also see it throttle clocks down.
are you watching the precision x graphs as you benchmark? they are super useful for knowing exactly whats happening to the card.
Hi! How to unlock the voltage and power consumption?

You already did. You've cranked up the volts to the maximum - the first slider. You're only at +100 on the gpu so you prolly don't need extra juice at all.
that sounds really low
as long as your under 70c and 132% you should be using max turbo which for your OC would have been low 1300mhz
