It's Bethesda, they treat us as after-thought's always.
I'm sure we'll need to wait for user-made mods to get a proper PC User interface.
The reason why they need to patch console versions faster is because those versions cant be modded. At the same time, they will neglect updates to the PC version as they normally do since modders will sort everything out quicker than Bethesda can anyway, while devoting their time to creating an onslaught of DLCs like horse armor for £3
I suppose they can be excused though, since no one else makes games as good as this one anymore.
Yeah I'm sorta getting used to it, but there are so many ways to make a UI that would have been infinitely more intuitive and usable on PC. It's a farce what they gave us.
It's not like there aren't thousands of examples of better UI's to pick from to emulate, it's just so clearly a lack of care and willingness to dedicate extra resources to PC dev of the game. Yet, I'm sure they'll be cranking out the DLC to try and get me to give them even more cash before ever thinking of adding value to the PC version.
I dare say that Darnified with a few simple tweaks would be able to be ported to this engine verrrry easily, if not done so already :-D
[Edit]
Also, I finally agree, it would make it at least look less 'consolised' - I guess the number one codeword of gaming of the year, even though everything else wasn't, if the UI was a lot more intuitive. Very little to really pick on tbh. But Darnified was nice for FO3 and NV :-) Someone from here with more time on their hands and maybe more skill could defo port Darnified (@ you Ket if your a listening???), jump in and be one of the first 'modders' to 'save' another GOTY :-)
I just did Azura's star quest.
I decided to record it expecting a battle as epic as Morokai .... but it was easy peasy :(

/turns difficulty up, Fireball just broke the game and made everything too easy.
Just out of interest how do you fare against more 'mundane' opponents like Giants, Dragons, and Mammoths etcetera?
Dragons are easy, I have two dragon fight videos done too. Giants and Mammoths I dont bother with and ignore them.
bhavv, you are awesome for framing the map! ;D
Skyrim inventory mod!

well i am playing this with 360 controller, and loving it so far. the UI was definitely made for controller. i will probably switch until something like skyrim darnified UI is out
also they need to fix quad core performance ... the game doesnt uses more than 2 cores?
Yeah. And it only uses a fraction of the full processing power of those two cores. (<50%) So what you gotta do is right click on the skyrim.exe shortcut on your desktop and select properties. Then click the shortcut tab and add "+fullproc" without quotes at the end of the executable. For example, mine says "D:\Skyrim\TESV.exe +fullproc" (without quotes once again).
Also, Skyrim doesn't use hardly any RAM. There is a little app out there called Large Address Aware that is used to force an application to utilize more than 2gb RAM. I recall using it on Crysis2.exe earlier this year. It also works on Skyrim.
so by doing that does it uses all 4 cores? or rather more than 50% on quad cores? i am waiting for tweakguides.com to do a full guide. my 920 @ 3.8GHz + 570 SLI is doing ok
he said he is almost done

yeah thats annoying. also i get mouselag, so i ended up using 360 controller, which was actually more responsive than mouse....Quote:
disabling VSync by setting iPresentInterval=0 in Skyrim.ini. It's not quite that simple. Vertical mouse sensitivity in Skyrim is always linked to FPS; disabling VSync only highlights it, but is not the cause. Any Physics bugs may be caused by either disabling VSync or high FPS - it's unclear.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the best console game I’ve ever played on PC.
I'll have to agree that this is the best console game Ive ever played on a PC too :D
Okay, I am Lvl 27 now, starting the Esbern quest - guess I should get the voice fix patch first.
Among other stuff, completed the Gauldur Amulet quest - the final fight was probably the toughest I have faced so far, but the reward is worth it. Also fought with Krosis the dragon priest, and a Blood dragon at once. That was also really tough but Krosis has a glitch and just froze behind a ledge and got pelted by arrows. Also, those wishing to obtain a powerful singlehanded weapon - go to Markarth and complete the Molag Bal quest - its a really simple quest and you get a VERY powerful mace. You can also get a powerful staff (Wabbajack) by completing the madmen quest Solitude. That was a very nice (& different) quest. I am enjoying these Daedraic questsmuch more.
Does anyone notice how the enemies are leveling up ? I ask because I completed a quest received early-on in Whiterun (rescuing the GrayMane) and I decided to fight into the Thalmor fort, and there were like 20 armored guards and 2-3 mages - I mean the fight was much more challenging than I expected at this level - does this mean that quest fights will scale but in general creatures will not ?
Oh, and I did some of the Imperial Legion quests and they are much more exciting compared to the dungeon scrawling quests - simple but engaging. I am just killing Stormcloaks everywhere now :D
I'm a N0rdz, lvl. 34, one handed, archery, blocking, destruction, restoration ... ~46H gaming
This game is simply great, that's what I wanted. Thanks Bethesda
Some funky mob-scaling going on. You can run around owning mobs like its nothing, but all of a sudden there will be one guy in the pack that one shot you. And I agree that the majority of q's and dungeons get old quickly. Thankfully the bigger q lines/main q is pretty cool :) Its a good game, but it gets way more credit than it deserves.
Does anyone else get the feeling that their character is rather short in 1st person view?
I'm still modding stalker. Once I'm done, maybe I'll look at Skyrim. Don't intend to get the game though until it has a patch or two.
Theres a utility I have that will outright convert a .exe file to 64 bit, if anyone wants it I'll upload it when I'm next on my PC.
Beware of what weapons you decide to get early, they might not level as you level. Oblivion suffered with this until somebody made a mod that would level weapons as you gained levels so you weren't stuck with a crappy version of the weapon.
hmm.. so after lvl 30 it should be cakewalk even with the bosses
weapons level ? do you mean upgrade via smithing ? or finding better weapons as your character levels up ? in that case what you get in the starting shouldnt matter. btw, i have a glass sword, axe , dawnbreaker and the mace or molag bal as the main single handed weapons i use.
Not quite, I mean stuff like the molag bal mace, those (in oblivion) are "leveled" weapons meaning the higher level your character is when you get it, the better the weapon will be. However oblivion had nothing in place to level these types of weapons as you gained levels so if you got the mace or something at a crappy low level, you would be forever stuck with the low level molag bal mace. Not saying the same problem exists in skyrim, but its a possibility.
