I switched to AHCI right off and booted from my SSD no problem. I've even flashed twice now.
Right now at 4.5 1.4VC, seems stable, went to 46x, bluescreened on windows startup, and now BIOS reverted back to F3. I'm doing something wrong with the BIOS update on the UD4.... grrrrr.
Ok here is a few quick runs after setting up. This is at 5040mhz at 1.40v core bios and a slight increase in Qpi/Vtt from auto, other then that nothing else has been changed. I set the multi at 50 and increased bclk to 101 for a clean break of 5G resulting in 5040mhz. This chip is on water using a remote PA 120.3 rad and EK HF block and the temps are super low. The ram is not my RipjawsX set which did not get here yet but a 4G set of 17600 Pi running on XMP profile1 with timings left in auto for 2132mhz, ram at :banana::banana::banana:ty 7-10-10-28 timings. No tweaks yet and 5G was easy even with the original F2 bios on this board. You where right CN this board simply flys and is very friendly to work with just like the last Gig board I used, fantastic stability. I am still getting things ironed out but so far all I can say is this chip is certainly faster then my 920 or 3570 at the same speed pound for pound by way more then 10% and runs about twice as cool. The UD5 is very impressive so far. Testing continues.:D
Hi, quick question please ? I'm using the latest @BIOS and latest BIOS (f6x for my UD4). I can flash it fine from windows, but during overclocking whenever I BSOD, the BIOS says there's a checksum error and reverts back to the shipping BIOS F3. I realize there is dual BIOS on this board, but how do I flash both sides so I don't have to keep doing this ? I've gone thru the manual to no avail, and found somewhere to hold down ALT-F12 during post, but that does nothing. Do you have any advice here?
Thank you.
Voltages:
Now let’s move to voltages, this is very important and I think anyone looking to overclock should have a thorough introduction to the variety of voltages that the user is able to control.
Make sure to pay attention to my tid-bits on Vcore(VCC) and VTT(VCCIO), these are most important for overclocking, other voltages can help too.
Here is a table I put together from Intel’s product data sheet; it defines the processors maximum voltages and maximum amperage- These are OFFICIAL Min and Max Values:
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/553/processork.png
VCC: Commonly Called Vcore, the voltage supplied to the processors inside the CPU. This voltage is a large part of Sandy Bridge overclocking. Now from personal testing, and weeks and weeks of headaches and hard ships, I have a few things I would like to share about this voltage.
I say maximum voltage for Vcc/Vcore is 1.50v for 24/7, 1.55-1.60v for extreme benchmarking, please stay below to 1.6, and don’t use any type of Load Line Calibration past 1.55v. Please not that high temperature teamed up with high voltage will kill your processor faster than anything else, it creates a perfect environment for processor degradation.
I am keeping a limit at 1.45v for now while I play around. This chip is certainly more then I expected.:D
Did you disable Turbo in BIOS ? I mean does your multiplier stay at 50x at all times ? Also do you plan to update to the new F5x BIOS ?
[s; BTW you got an awesome chip !
This is great guys, nice to see 50 multi on f2 2600k & have a 580, gskills etc for comparison.
Keep it up
Dont need a 2600 but what the hell im going to order one today!
Hi guys,
Does this motherboard come with mounting screws? Most of the reviews i have read don't mention it.
cases come with mounting screws
or do you mean stock heatsink screws if they are held by platstic pushpins or screws (it's the latter)
No, they are not, why the hell do people keep posting the same?
1.52V is a maximal VID per SVID spec (maximal value of the VID table). Not the maximal safe voltage.
It's not listed anywhere.
There is not such thing as safe voltages for SB, you overvolt it, you take the risk. The same as with OCing the rest of the components...
I meant to mount the mobo in the case. It's about 3 years since my last mobo purchase so i couldn't remember where i got my mounting screws from :).
It's just that i'm selling my curernt X48 board to a guy tonight and i wasn't sure if i should give him my mounting screws or not. Looks like he won't be getting them!
Thanks for the responses.
Just ordered a p67 ud5.
Ordered a 2600k yesterday.
Planning on cooling with 2xCoolitBoreas in series.
2nd pcie will hopefully play nicely with an Areca 1880 with 13xR0 Acard 9010.
Going after the pcm05 4x WR. :D
:up::up::up:
My test :) No tweaks or not even a defrag :D just installed and test. Also note that I did not go beyong 1.52 vcore in the BIOS since I just borrowed this sandy from a friend. Dang no sandy yet here in the Philippines !!!!

Trying it out at below 5.1ghz to compare with x58's and i think sandy beat tyles in below 5.1ghz even with lousy ram timings .... Correct me if im wrong ...x58's are actually higher than 7mins in 5.1Ghz

Is the Bios stable especially when disabling cores?

Hey guys, can you use CPU-Z 1.56.2 on Giga P67A,thanks.
stasio, when do you sleep man >? You are unreal, like the fairy of Sandy Bridge at like a few forums... :D Keep up the good work !
 here too for stasio you help make xs a one stop shop
