New Koolance *Dual D-5* Bay Reservoir! (RP-450X2)

oh, if that was a reference to me...i placed the res on the bottom because that's where i placed the t3 when it was leaking...i just wanted a functional pc asap and I figure i can test it safely from the bottom as well...also didnt feel like rearranging my setup and wires and put in new tubing.

I'll see if there's a better way to fill or bleed it using a t-line or quick disconnect..but for now i'll just worry about it later. i was thinking about tapping some kind of g1/4 hole in the acrylic if that is even possible.

Sorry if this has been asked already...but does this thing have any vibration isolation for the pumps? I know that my drive bays conduct vibration the worst of anything in my case. They connect to the top rails that lock in the side panels and they rattle like crazy if I don't have the pump isolated properly.

If it doesn't that's a deal breaker for me and probably many others with a Lian Li V-series case or similar (tons of people around here).

If you can bolt this unit down with the 8 mounting holes you'll probably see less vibration issues. However, I have yet to test this system out myself so I can't say for sure exactly.

There's a total of 8 mounting holes (4 on each side). Koolance only includes 4 screws in the package though:

I also run dual D-5's in series. As others have mentioned, not only is this redundant, but it also allows the pump speeds to be turned down.

I 100% agree with Diverge that there should be a fill-port on the front.

I would buy this product in a heartbeat (I see nothing wrong with your pricing) if it supported two pumps in series.

False, If you have water blocks and not just tubing in you loop

It is great. I tryed running two pumps in single loop but think I am getting to much presser at the pumps. I have a drip/leak at the pump. Unpluging one pump the leak goes away.

Guess the other way is spend way to much more and buy the pumps with speed control.

Does anyone know if there is any adverse effects by removing the acrylic internal divider if only using one pump? I am hoping it would be a little bit quieter with the swooshing sounds at higher pump speeds.

Been a while since I last checked in here.

Good to know there's a working pump-res bay for the D5 now.
The T3 was a real disaster.
I still have 2 in the closet that I don't date use.

Count me in for running the pumps in series (redundancy).
I'll grab one as soon as you have one that does that.

Another thing that's just my whim here.
So far all the bay reservoir can not really be topped up without significant pc mod (making a fill plug on top of the case that is connected to the res), or tilting the whole case back.

Wouldn't it be great if we can have an angled pipe attachment on top of the res that directly port to the front of the case? That way we can take something like a narrow outlet garden watering bucket to top off water.
I don't know about others here, but I wouldn't mind losing one more bay for this purpose.

Of course, should u have the bay on top of the res empty in the first place you can simply remove the bay cover and top it off there.
The only problem I had with that is that the opening is too narrow to get any large head screwdriver in to remove/install the plug properly.
I ended up needing to remove the next 2 bay above to do this.

Even though you haven't RMA'ed a ton of D5s, you still have RMA'ed some correct?

Well, if you are someone that leaves the computer on and are away from it, then if a pump dies and the BIOs doesn't shut the computer down fast enough, you could potentially destroy expensive components.

For some people, an extra $100 for a second pump running in series is a hell of a lot cheaper then destroying $1000 worth of computer parts. Also, a D5 on setting one or two is really quiet, and having 2 of them should still give you enough flow to keep the loop happy. :)

The front fill port was also a really nice feature on the T3. It made filling and draining fairly easy as long as you didn't have a large heavy case. It would be nice to see something like that as an option on this as well.

Tim: imho it would be nice if it would be possible to make that other one "universal", so that one could cover both (or all three configs including 2 separate loops) with just one rin^H^Hestop to ru^H^Hcover them all. The more the product is universal, the less inventory on shelves of some less popular configurations.

Just a quick question.
is the acrylic window removable?
Is the divider plate removable?
If they are can you tap the holes to install fittings if there is sufficient room to do so
