A little tip to make things more interesting.
Some boards and or cpu's really suck when cold, cool or even lukewarm........in fact they suck so much they need a little help. ;)
It's worth about 2 ticks in setfsb........

OH btw there are only 7 ticks left in setfsb........so lowest anyone could do at this point without some miracle is 235.400 on a publically available bios.

didn't helped for me - tried passive cooling and so on yesterday but wouldn't give me anything :( I tested 5 sticks of RAM today and remarked that old D9GTR suck while you should "cherry-pick" your elpidas - gained me 15 MHZ but now I am stuck ~390...2 CPUs and 7 sticks of RAM - no backups anymore :p: maybe on weekend I can do something with more manual subtimings, my last hope ;)
yep IIRC the M III E did not need hot air assist , I'm preety sure that it's more of a GENE thing.
If you look close GENE is really not a derivative hardware wise to formula or extreme, it's a totally diff board altogether component wise.
Put it in the oven SoF :D

@chew whish I had some more boards to test I think I am at either board or ram limit...I can do sub 400 on booth my CPUs now but they are stuck around the same wall.

afaik with latest 2001 bios thats the lowest GENE can go, PCI_IRQ errors related to USB any lower. Board doesnt like PCI over 105 either so I can't tell if that will fix it.Quote:

Yeah MIIIE, I think it's 100% RAM limited after testing all my sticks - I have no crappy RAM only Elpidas or D9GTR...but with D9GTR I can't get low. I found one Elpida stick that seem to be ok but I think subtimings holding me back.
