Sounds like we need to see some after market water blocks and or heatsinks for this board soon.

Have 50C IOH and ICH under load.
Everest or ASUS Probe or RC TweakIt
Oh, I just found PC Probe on the CD, thanks. I forgot to check under the utilities and only installed the drivers, and were also wondering where Kapersky was as well :am:
Hmmm, for some reason my MB temperature just stays stuck at 29 degrees and it wont actually detect the correct temperature :(
You can download Everst from here: http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/late...y-tools-30530/
It's a realy good Monitoring Tool!
So has anyone tried adjusting different PWM mode and switching frequency to see how they affect CPU stability? Heard that upping the frequency to 1000Khz actually reduces stability compared to 250Khz... would be interested to find out if it was true. :)
I just ordered this board with an I7 930 and dominator GT ram looking forward to playing this weekend with this new build.

Initial test with Cascade (no time for air).....started to load OS's etc. but couldn't help myself. :D:D
Have 2 980X's to test, this is first one, purchased in Belgium, 320B. FINALLY might have a decent chip...w00t!!!
Haven't played with many of the settings....everything pretty much at auto, board feels pretty stable. no CBB @ -107- to -110. Hope it holds out for a little more under LN2. Pretty happy with the volts..promised myself 1.7 absolute max until Ln2. At these temps more is possible but for first time firing the board up....very happy with board and chip.
edit; did the washer mod like on the original RE. used ceramique..temps never hit 40C, high 30's......
More to come...waiting for big daddy pots from Vince & your friendly neighbourhood LN2 delivery guy.
Not too shabby this board:

Template out yet anyone know?
Mine arrived today and I have to say it is pretty impressive.
Gonna mess around with air then off to LC. :D
Hope my heatpipe assy isnt crap, but I guess it doesnt matter as the EK FB block is going on it as soon as it hits.
I have been only using T-Balanced setting and left PWM voltage on Auto with LLC on 100%. Tried 250khz, 500khz and 1000khz switching frequency and for my 920@4.5Ghz ~1.44v most stable was 250khz, yet the difference was slight. This all is still on bios 0402, will flash today 0534 and check if this changes anything.
As was stated earlier 250 seems best for stability.
Looking good lads !!
Another quick question to the owners of this board. Today I see new owner reviews over at Newegg and one of them is kinda disturbing. He got the board in, installed it, installed an OS and everything was great for one day, then the next day when he turned it on, the board said i_rog needed to update the firmware and it comenced to automatically updating itself, once the update finished the board never got past the post, it would initially post the bios but would would not go past that, just freezes. He has not been able to get the mobo to boot to his OS since it automatically updated the firmware. Below is the link to the review in question.
Review Title: Loved this board for 1 day only : (

My question is, does this board really have an automatic update feature? and if so can it be turned off? I do not like hearing that a enthusiast class mobo can automatically update itself. This should be left to the user to do if they so wish. lol
Ordered mine yesterday with 2 day shipping, hopefully it will be here friday for some weekend fun...
Automatic Update? No!
If you update to bios 0531 the rog firmware will be automatically updated on next boot (this process takes a view seconds). If you do stop this process I think you can brake your mobo. But with bios flash back you should have the option to reinstall the bios.
I haven't managed to get the NB heatsink off yet. Seems the head on my phillips screwdrivers that are thin enough to clear the holes aren't able to get enough grip to actually turn the screw.
I saw a couple reviews that the Rampage III had a max bclk of around 221 with PCIE @100 . Can anyone tell me what there max bclk is on this board ?
You update the bios on this board using a memory stick, and it somehow does it in bios.
I've managed to get up to 4.0 Ghz on air, but cant get 4.2 Ghz stable, which I had on my UD5, but I think this is because my CPU cooler isnt properly seated and the first core is going far too high over 85 degrees (Previously it maxed out a 87 / 85 / 83 / 81, right now its going up to 91 / 86 / 83 / 81 and BSODing).
I'll try reseating the cooler some other time and using two lines of thermal paste 1/3 the way from both the top and bottom to give better coverage.
Could you try putting the second picture underneath the first because its widening the page too much.
