Thanks, but I do not have any phase cooling yet - those runs where with chilled water - 2x boreas in series to an apogee XT block.

Hopefully she will produce well on WCG.
Good to see more non-3003B 980s join the thread. Thanks for sharing
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best at OCing Intel's. So I may be able to get more out of it. But I'm satisfied with this as a 24/7 setup, especially given the low CPU temps at this voltage and speed.
Anyone know of a GOOD document on how best to OC this chip with the REIII?
I've read numerous documents but have not found one that I thought was real good.

Cooling: Air - Venomous X + single Akasa 12cm 1200rpm upwards pulling out of Antec 1200
Still haven't tried higher stable frequencies. Throttling of multiplier is noticed when temperature goes above 70C when ambient temperature is high.
Good to see you got stability with 4ghz sniper  thanks for sharing
Looking good sniper - keep it up!
So finally I decided to break the virginity of this 980X and went above 1.375v...
Thanks :) I just copied somewhat similar voltage from your screenshot and got a semi stable run with really small problem size lol

^ you are on water right?
If you mean me, nope everything was on air... I myself was on sweat (water if you mean). The rig increased my room temperature to around 27C... Almost activated the fire alarm lol... I just dare not torture my chip longer like that. Back to stock frequency and stock voltage now :)
Ok, mine should be with here possibly tomorrow (980X)...
Any different parameter to consider when overclocking with this Gulftown's compared to Bloomfield's? or they are same?
As far i know... Uncore can be 1.5x of the memory frequency... anything else to know?
Thanks for the advice.
With turbo boost my 980X at stock can do 3.6GHz for single-threaded programs, which is a lot better than a 930 at stock :)
For 4.0GHz stable I need 1.25v, which increases the maximum temperature to 60C under load, and exceeding 70C along with those graphics cards stressed at the same time. (Everything is on air)
Thus the performance gain of 10% is not worth the OC from stock.
By the way, 980X has 2 more cores and is 50% faster than a Bloomfield at the same frequency, for my MATLAB programs.
Mine is Batch 3005F801, currently testing @ stock...
By the way... how accurate is Core Temp for Gulftown? Max temp seeing while running LinX is 36C... Watercooled, and at 23C case temp. HT enabled.
Just got my 980X and UD9 today.
Batch is 3005F584.
SLBUZ COSTA RICA.
Will report once the cooling setup arrives and I'll start torture testing ~ 3 weeks.

3005F210 [ dead & gone in the beginning of its 2nd LN2 session ]
LN2, AquaMark 3: 6500MHz @ 6c12t @ 1.85V ( should be able to bench it even higher with more voltage or HT off, unfortunately the chip died, only had one short session with it :( )
LN2, 3D Mark Vantage: 6.05GHz @ 1.85V
3020A457 #1
LN2, PiFast max 6.05GHz
Nice CBB ( -150C ) & CB ( -175C ), pretty high for triple channel, crappy clocking & voltage scaling
3020A457 #2
LN2, AquaMark 3 max 6GHz @ 1.88V @ -120C
LN2, 3D Mark Vantage max 5.67GHz @ 1.75V @ -103C [ more voltage didn't help, lower temp later on didn't help as well ]
CBB -112C, CB -128C @ dual channel
I don't have any screenshots from the 3020's because I just gave those a quick shot to check how they clock, wasted 8L, and then I decided to keep the LN2 to test another 980X later.
Screenshots from my 3005F210 can be found in my thread @ Xtreme Overclocking, search with the keyword "palinka"
