Nice run Edge, you on air ? or water ?
Thanks. Phase, around 0°C to -15°C
I think 5GHz will be easy to at least get a cpuz validation out of. Right after this screeny I upped it to 4.9 and then to 5.0, but it BSOD'd right when I ran SuperPI.
Very impressive Edge! Is that truly 1.55v for 4.8Ghz? That's quite impressive indeed!
guys, i'm having a problem with my oc 965 BE C3.
Batch 0941FPAW
Stable at 3,7 with 1,46 vcore. nb 2400, v1,25. temps are under load 44 c
More than 3,7 i need to go way up with the vcore. example for 3,9 i need 1,6 vcore to be able run prime for 5 minutes.... :(
Nb is at 2400, but almost no go at 2600. need 1,45 volt for that.....
I also see vdroops under load. sometimes up to ,05 volt. Is this a problem?
My mainboard is M3A79-T latest bios.
Thx for the help....
Hello Wez, another old trimer :toast:, thanks for your response.
Im sorry you are perfectly correct and my question probably needs rephrasing.
Its been a while since I looked at these settings and its not helping that AMD Overdrive in combination with the DFI m2rsh is showing confusing information!
Now here is the confusion
In the bios on the DFI, CPU-NB-VID is set at 00, which is 1.550v, now from what you said this should be about 1.1v and is what feeds the IMC.
In AMD Overdrive the only place showing this value is CPU VDDC
Now when I increase the CPU voltage in the bios by +25.0mv in AMD Overdrive CPU VDDC raised by 25.0mv
So now I dont know what is what!
- EDIT -
Just updated to the latest beta bios, for the first time I have CPU-NB-VID in AMD Overdrive and it is named as 'NB VID' was about time!
It reacts as expected when changing values in the bios.
Now, the relationship between CPU VDDC and CPU VID will remain a mystery on this motherboard, at least for me!
If I change in AMD Overdrive either CPU VDDC or CPU VID, the Core Voltage value changes
In the bios of the DFI m2rsh the only setting that can be adjusted to effect Core Voltage is 'CPU VID Special Add' and from what AMD Overdrive shows this directly effects the CPU VDDC reading.
CPU VID reading in AMD Overdrive remains unchanged when changing the 'CPU VID Special Add' in bios.
Confused, well, should I be? LOL
Anyhow, now that I know how my tools are working and have some 'reliable' readings I can go about and try to dial this system in.
Unfortunately for me I feel this CPU is not good with default volts.
Im trying to find a post by someone here at XS that explains there thoughts on interpreting the manner prime95 crashes.
On my old Phenom 9950, I only got reboots when the CPU was well over 'stable' values.
On this PhenomII C3, moving from a stable overclock and then priming leads to instant reboots, I need to correlate why this is happening as so to know what to target in achieving stability.
Anyhow, will keep reading and tweaking, its been too long for me to get a nice low voltage sample, was hoping the one I got would have been as it looks to be a potenially good one, i.e. 0944APMW, lowish batch number 0129 etc.........
whoa whose results are those?
some japanese guy, think, he is registred too at xtremesystems Gyrock
4878MHz CPU-NB! :eek2:
4800 NB is :eek2::eek2::eek2: wow thats sweet. Seeing alot nice numbers coming from that Crosshair III i think i like.
These are pretty old ones already but wanna share with you..
Stable clocks (also stable with 4100MHz 1.48v but memory fails sometimes, so downclocked to 4GHz, new mems are on the way!)

Everything is done quickly with air cooling (Noctua NH-U12P) and ~26c ambient.
Now i have Noctua NH-D14 and after i get new mems i will post better results!
Batch is: 0933FPMW
Dudes, you makes me feel very stupid. You have a unique CPUs, selected or not, they are still.... :worship::worship::worship:
Obviously really worth to get C3 ;)
good job Asmola, now only with 1.425V (last one was 1.44V right?) ? ! Whau, its normal temps and AIR guys, nothing watter cooling!
These are pretty much max with 1.5v.. done with 25c ambient and Noctua NH-D14.
SP1M (all 4 core's oc'd)

cool, nice. U can try, for benchmarking 1.55V. A bit help u with higher clocks (from 10-50MHz)
I'm waiting for new mem's and then gonna do full bunch of benches!
Hopely new patriot's work better than these mushkins.
I have patriot vipers with Notuca U12P cooler and my vipers hit the cooler  you having any issues with ram on that D14 ? I may have to trade up and get the D14.
my 3D Mark 2006, very strange is my CPU score, wtf???!! Uff, sry, now i see it, it was previouis run at default :D
http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/9...mhz2639mhu.png
Uh? That is hardly better than my HD4870 at default...
16 500 is on default CPU (3400MHz) with default clocks HD5770. Uff, really its better than HD4870?
edit/ im a bit frustrated from my bad series 0942EPMW, think, here is limit for 3Dmark about 4200MHz (tomorow il try it). With 0944xxMW i think that I could get runs about 4300 MHz with the same AIRcooling.
Is a C3 oced equal to a i7 oced or is i7 still far ahead?
I have only 32bit vista for benching right now but going to install tweaked xp this evening, it gives me much better score on 06marks.
That why my cpu score is so low on that test, had +6200 cpu points on xp with lower clocks.
Asmola, did u tried max validation (low NB, for better CPU clocks) ?
