Since HD5970 seems to be a dual Cypress GPU with HD5850 clocks, I wouldn't count with a higher than 300W TDP even with the 10% extra SPs and TMUs... of course, it could be for different reasons, and we can't know it yet, but I don't understand why they say that is "probable".
On a side note, I hadn't seen the size of the card previously (13.5" = ...34cm??!). I find it excessive. The ATX form factor is 9.6" (24.4cm) wide, and the extended ATX is 13" (33cm). I really think that videocard manufacturers should stick to ATX measures for the core of their line up, and up to E-ATX for some enthusiastic products that may need it. Nowadays, most high end videocard solutions are E-ATX (even when they don't measure the whole 13", since they surpass the ATX form factor). But surpassing the E-ATX form factor is unacceptable, in my opinion. There is no case to hold it except by chance, not even E-ATX cases (it could fit, indeed it probably will, but it doesn't have to). That's absurd, IMO.
