This is the truth, I was just thinking the same thing ; )

oh yeah, i agree on that one, i wouldnt recommend on using furmark to compare perf, especially not of diferent architectures...
yeah i agree :)
its not easy to moderate a thread you actively participate in though, so i can understand why most mods prefer to stay out of it :D
and well, nvidia originally planned a 40nm gt200 with 50% more horse power... gt212... but it never showed up, and i highly doubt it still will considering gt300 is a quarter away and nvidia is basically begging people to wait for gt300, and never even mentioned gt212... :/
gt212 def would have been competition for the 5870
my guess is that nvidia decided its not worth to launch a single gpu card with the same or possibly worse perf than a gtx295... so instead they went for a 295 single pcb and cut its costs...
what they could really use until gt300 arrives would be a 40nm gt200... not beefed up, just the plain old gt200 but in 40nm, cooler, clocked a little higher and for 100-150$ less...
some press contacted nvidia about the fake fermi card they showed and they supposedly replied saying its a lie, and the card was a real fermi card!
please, does anybody know more details?
id love to put this quote in my sig!!! :D
oh and yes, that fudzilla story is nonsense...
its like going to a restaurant and asking them if their food is any good...
what do you think theyre gonna tell you? NO! its terrible!
Guys, as we now have an official thread for the GT300, please continue your discussion in said thread. I'm sure no one can blame the closing of this one, as I want to consolidate all info to a single thread, much like we did for the 58x0's.
