if it's there (DDR3 support) i wonder if there's a way to activate it? I have the Hummer HA-08 AM2+ mobo which supports both DDR2 & DDR3 mems.

You must keep in mind than the fact that it is a Deneb, doesn't mean that you can actually use the DDR-III IMC. Maybe it is damaged or non functional. Maybe the way than the AM2+ package routes each wire trace to pin is critically different to the AM3 package and that is why an AM2+ based 45nm Processor (PIIX4 920, 940, this AX2 5000+) would not work even if you remove that extra Pin for make it fit in Socket AM3 (Tom's Hardware style). But the conclusion is that while it is there, you can't use it.
