Oh this board is a completely differenet PCB board.. Its not the same as a NF7 period.. hell i've held both up together and there different.
I had a feeling this was all hype. Alot of people contribute to this as well, saying that the AN7 ownz, how these big mosfets and caps are so great and the box is so purty... yea, that's just great but when you fire it up, that's when the real story becomes apparent. I steered clear of the IC7 when building a p4 rig due to ram divisor issues and held off on this AN7 because I wasn't going to buy into the hype. I went with the "proven" NF7 and it dies after 2 days. ABIT GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

This board has problems doing 1/2 multipliers correctly. The system just reboots no matter what the settings at 11.5 but not at 11 or 12 :confused:

It won't do 1/2 multipliers. 12 and 11 are fine, 11.5 is no good. it just reboots. When it boots up at 11.5, the bios does give out any beep codes. I thought that was strange.

HOLST - I have a good deal for you... I'll give you my NF7-S V1.2 that tops out at about 204MHz FSB with 1.75v for your NF7 that does 250MHz FSB :D Sounds like a good deal to me :banana:

It needs a bios update for .5 multipliers. I might go back to 1.2 perhaps.

This is pretty good news for me. I think it can be fixed with a bios update I assume.
Question is LD, can it do 225+?
Mine seems to do worse over time... 221 max stable here.
I'm Priming 220 now.
But the Vdd is at 1.75 now. Not good for higher results. I mean they should have offered a minimum of 1.85v vdd
And 1.75 vdd Undervolts to 1.72 but 1.70 is 1.70 go figure

I keep running Prime 95 for 30 min for each few Mhz on the FSB.
I also switched out the Bh5's for Ch5's believe it or not and switched dimm slot to 1 and 3 from 2 and 3.
I may put the Bh5 back in to see if the Ch5 is holding me back.
I never burnt these sticks in. Heck this is like the 3rd time I'm even testing them.

A cut trace, a different vendors sticker on it, .5 multies don't work,
Guru software seems useless right now and the chipset seems to be topping out at 220-222
Other then that, things are looking up :)
I mean could I just keep the board here and run it at 220, yes I could, but I expected better.
I also want .5 multipliers and a higher fsb.
I know they are no guarantees when OC'ing, only heartbreak :flame:

stable with no problems at all.
It's like they just started with the first N2 board out there.
I don't get it. Abit is losing it I think. I know too many people who are having even Nf7's die on them for no reason.

As I said before, Abit doesn't really have control over the quality of the NB chips they get from Nvidia and we can't possibly expect them to hand pick the best ones just for this mobo. However, we can most definitely expect them to fix the issues that they've now had 4 freakin revisions to fix - 10 and 10.5 mults, fluctating voltages, etc.

Well that makes me wonder. What are the chances of 90% of the boards hitting this limit... no more and no less?
I almost wonder if it IS a bios glitch. Youd think one guy could hit a decent FSB and maybe a few who cant hit 215.
But seemingly all of them just dry up at a hair above 220.

I notice that my SATA combo is less than stable with this board, but I havent tested FSB (at any length anyway) with the SATA controller disabled. Disabling SATA on my NF7-S brought me from 223 to the 230's.

I sent back my Sata adapter for my 120 JB withe last silver cap bad NF7, so ide till I get another one.
