what was the situation nebulous?
Just got mine in. First impressions are:
Impressive packaging. It appears Abit is really proud of this board. :) Honestly, its like the manuals from when you bought a car. 2 IDE cables, 1 FDD, 2 SATA and a power converter are all included.
Huge caps, much larger Vdimm mosfets, Realtek ALC658 codec. Southbridge revision is A4. Well spaced mounting holes (lots of clearance), dual optical out controllers, 4 USB out back, Actual metal NB heatsink (Al).. etc...
This board feels significantly heavier than a NF7-S.
Will post back in awhile, chem midterm in 2 hours.
sweet can't wait for your results and opinion on the board. if you have a digi camera would you mind snapping a few pics for us. ThanksQuote:

Just a nightmare with refund/rma
Gotta agree with Nebulous on this one. And
I've ordered my share from eXcaliber (mainly CPU's).
They can be a biatch to deal with for RMA.
Their customer service has been good a couple times
tho when I've called in to change an order.
Patiently awaiting end-user results on the AN7.
Pops.

Heh, due to a scheduling error, the midterm is TAKEHOME. God I love university. :D
This means AN7 time. ;)
cool more playing time for you Hallowed
Northbridge reads:
639710.1 0326A1
Ultra 400
More to come. Btw, the pins on this newer heatsink are easier to remove than the older ones. Oh, and this board has a digital readout in the far corner.
Mine is schedualed to be here tuesday. Hopefully I'll get lucky and see it monday though.
I JUST paid 115$ for a nf7-s 2.0 not 3 weeks ago. And I AS3A'ed mosfet sinks on so no 85% RMA even. Might get a friend to buy it off me though (Not a real overclocker... though I am looking to at least get him a 2500+ at 200fsb with this machine we're building.)
Damn I've wasted so much money lately. Bought a 9600se figuring I'd take Halflife 2 code and resell the card... Damn thing can't even score HALF of what my 75$ ti4200 128meg can on 2001se. Bought TONS of ram trying to get an intel rig working right... a rig I later scrapped. Bought a zalman heatpipe gpu cooler which lowered my overclock so I put it back in the box and went back to stock cooling while I wait on an all copper 1u heatsink to mod. Bought tons of stuff for my garage. And a bunch of other stuff. My bank account is wheezing.
I should have mine tomorrow before 3 pm according to FedX.. Over night shipped from newegg.. Damn expensive too. Man i hope its all worth it in the end.. if not it goes back and i eat the shipping to and from.
L:DFjasl;dfkjs Mine is here
Taunting
With 2 sticks of pc3200 non a KHX next to it...
Taunting
And I won't have time to play with it until SUNDAY!!!
Come on guys what's the story?
Let's see some real results already!!!!!! :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
That's why I passed up 2 vendors to wait for the Egg.Quote:

I would'nt buy so much as a screw from them after what i went thru. i know other ppl had great success, me i did'nt. I only do buisness with newegg and newegg only. i have bought from googlegear/zipzoomfly whatever the new name is. not a problem either.
1) Newegg
2) googlegear
That's it.
I HATE, yes HATE these small vendors. Many of them have a 30 day policy on boards. After 30 days talk to the manufacturer.
With the Egg, I have gotten RMA's on boards that were pretty old.
Every single time I call the Omelet, I get someone nice and that speaks in CLEAR ENGLISH. They don't hang up on your or put you on hold never to return.
OK now if you're buying a heatsink or a fan that's cool. But for a board, video card or ram, I'll stick with Newegg thank you very much.
come on!?!
how is it?
Grrrrr. My freaking 1u Sink wont be here until wendsday which means I will have a weeks wait to put better gpu cooling on my 9800. I will get half a day with my an7 though at least. So after everyone else has already posted their results I will be posting mine tuesday night or wendsday. Go me!
any reviews yet?
After some initial instability I'll put this thing through its paces.
It may be more to do with a beta SiI 3112 driver im running, but I'll see. uGuru works fine here as far as temp monitoring and etc.
Btw this board will yell at you if you dont have something plugged into the CPU fan header, and in fact this may have caused the initial stability problems.
At anyrate im going to reformat with a more solid SATA driver if my benchmark scores are worse than usual. That and this board probably needs a break-in day or two.
I also ordered AS5 with it, and let me tell you this ยงยงยงยง is amazing. 5c drop on my chip @ default clocks. :D
I got my package! Man after missing the FedX guy I called and they re-sent him back to the house! I called and complained that he went to the wrong address since they done that before to me last week.. After which i noticed the tag on the front door! Opps! My bad.. I quickly took the tag off and acted stupid on the phone like someone else must of took the tag off or something.. Anyways he came back within 5 mins of the initial phone call to FedX.
First impressions is that this thing should own! WOw the quallity is there and theres a ton of those tall caps everywhere! <-(whatever yall call them), all in the right arears around the memory with a few i think 4 mosfets! Yes those mosfets are like 2twice as tall... Much larger! They also managed to put a few fan headers on it as well unlike the NF7.. I think 4-5 totall.. Just going off of memory since its back in the box and i have something else to do real quick before i start to play with it.
First thing i noticed though is the much larger and heavier looking H/S on the NB. it even has springs on the clips to hold it down better with more pressure.. No big deal to me though since i'm gona slap on a NB water block but something others will like forsure.
I cant wait to try it out... THough i will take some pics of it before i slap the blocks on.
Oh one negitive i noticed right off the bat is the little chips that are still around the mounting holes for the CPU. :( That sucks! Almost looks like it will be more of a problem then the NF7 which already sucked for clearance around those holes.
I will pump up the volume on those voltages i asure you! Water cooling and all.. So you'll get a good indication of what the voltages are like.. But i dont have a hard drive for this test bed.. So i can only test it out with memtest86 runing from the floppy :(
Hopefully within an hour i'll get your pics up!
Ok thanks for the report.
It's like an small entree' so far. We'd like some meat and potatos
so let when know when you're serving dinner. :)
I'm gona try and post some pics ASAP.. Messing around with the board is gona be delayed a few since the wife wants me to go out shopping with her.  :(
I'll try holding the wife off so i can get those pics up.
Here ya go guys.. Sorry was in a hurry with all this and i didnt have time to post the pics here.. so the addy will have to do for now.
Thank god my wife got stuck on the phone with my sister that loves to talk! heheh..
Abit AN7
wow king.. those pics are amazing.. the board looks fine but the home theater! OOOMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGG
ya HAAAAADDD to let us see those LOL
oh yeah, the caps and mosfets on that AN7 are MMAASSSSIIIVVEEEE!!!! methinks it will have good voltage regulation.
hehe.. THANKS!
Yeah.. all pics were rushed so the camera (Sony V1) was set to auto. The flash was playin tricks when there was a mirror in the room. Also i was zoomed out on a few of the shots so it kinda made my living room look all skiny and stuff..hehe. If i would of took a step or 2 back and zoomed in a tad it would of looked my normal.
Also i added a few new components to the family like returning the Denon 2900 for a Denon 5900 DVD/DVI player and a Sony 300 Disc Jukebox.
Grand total after high end cables on everything is in the upper 10,000 range :slobber: yikes! Only half is payed off.
Now i get to finally install the new board.. Gona be awhile since i have to remove the blocks from the newer NF7-S and rehook her all back up.
I'll report back sometime tonight. hopfully with some good news!
Oh new system specs for now or what it will be soon:
