Sure thing.
Making progress.......not sure if this is maxx yet for prime....Keep in mind that a limiting factor may be this chip was never intended to run with 4 cores.......

not bad x3/4 720 BE :-D...
Ran into issues with priming with higher NB.....I think I have the problem pinned down however.
Here's just some stuff I tossed together not the best times but then again if I was going for fast times I would not be running multiple benches in one screen...........
I'll take my 955 over an unlockable 720 ( even though this is a damn good chip ) anyday.....

When run as intended it has a tad more headroom........

E-mail sent guys, bottom line I asked for ram tuning options.....there is not much room for error with the current options the board offers....
If the auto detected ODT and drive strengths are not optimal for your specific modules it will cause some instabilities.....
This will also hinder NB clocking since the NB is the IMC.....memory not stable IMC will not be stable.
Case closed...
Having the option in the bios will not automatically fix your issues however...
You guys will have to experiment and tune according to your particular system and ram.
This will likely not affect ddr II users as much as the the ddr III guys.....
Alrighty you wanted a max validation so here we go.......All cores.....

Wasn't to happy with my previous PI 1m time so I tuned everything slightly.....not bad considering these are my budget 3d benching sticks.........

Anything else you guys want to see?
im having some problems also
using MA790X-UD4P (AM2+ version)
http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/5152/superpig.th.jpg
first off, no matter what i do, 4GHZ is not stable, yet anything up to 3.99 is able to run, while any setting at 4ghz will not boot into windows.
second thing
no matter what i do, i cannot change NB multi past 10x.
my computer will try to save settings and reboot, then turns off and only cmos reset will do it.
luckily my chip/board can reach ht clocks of ~280 but im sure i could squeeze more with this chip and a working NB multi.
other then these couple problems the board is a gem, highly recommended for people looking for a cheap sturdy board
Anyone that can boot windows at 4 gig on air is very very fortunate.....especially with a 720BE.......I would not consider that a problem........toss some cold at the chip and it will surely boot 4 gig ;)
You should take temp readings when you boot with a dmm probe on side of IHS ;) with Xp its the equivalent of running 1024mW prime.....we noticed this on ln2 when booting XP.....the LN2 pot would literally boil over....
No clue on the NB issue on that particular board.....
I updated this board to the latest public bios off gigabyte's site when it arrived.
Fwiw the chip i'm using holds multiple WR's.........and it can not boot 4gig on air in any board I have used to date.
Good Clocks on that 720 on air..... I'm going to be using the same setup byt trying it on a 550BE.
Seems like your running the F4G bios... what settings you get the most stability out in the bios?
ANy plans to put this board and ship under water or anything colder....
I will post some prime stable bios shots tommorow......going to do it in native tri core mode.....as the unlocked cores complicates things.....
Nope no extensive cooling as this board is not mine.
A user offered to send me it to check out and determine what issues it may have in order to get gigabyte to fix it.
I honestly didn't test the prior bios. I knew this bios unlocked the 4th core so flashed it to see how it handled quads......seems to do quite well.
According to my database for this particular chip everything is spot on save for the prime stable NB speeds.......
According to my database for the ram, its slacking a little as I can pull 1680 on air with these sticks.
Nice stuff, a 720 even chew:up:
Its wierd im almost thinking the 720 when unlocked must have abetter IMC running in DDR3 vs DDR2.
Ive noticed a lot of Unlocked 720's doing the BEST on DDR3 vs DDR2.
Even though Mine Clocks nice on DDR2 , im pretty shure it would be Night and day because of the IMC and Ram multis DDR3 has to offer.
Thanks for your hard work Bro.
Also Gigabyte is some good stuff for the Money.
i see that now, thanks for clarifying
As promised this was prime stable settings for above prime run.
With the ram options I requested not as much voltage should be required however no clue if it will go through as I appear to have lost communications with them....

Thanks chew* for posting up your bios settings...i'll try them out this weekend since I have the same board and memory minus i'll be using a 550BE.
This should give me a good baseline...
Also see your running the memorty at 1.75v , do you see that it undervolts the memory under the readings in the system or will it not perform at those timings at 1.65V?
ufff, 1.6V to CPU for 24/7? With 1.55 wasnt stable it?
edit: wrong place for this post *blush*
