the work and pictures are the cat's pajamas! I do like the contrast of the bare aluminum under the plexi, but I can imagine the final product will look perfect!
Amazing work yet again Charles!

สวยมากๆครับ
Ooohh the Cats Pajamas - that is something I havent heard for a while but sums this up perfectly :D
That my friend I can definately relate too....I had only just recently come out of rehab and now Charles posts this build....he is going to send me broke :yepp:
Charles as usual you manage to completely outdo yourself and I bow in the presence of the zen frog master ;)
Keep it up
Perfect.
Nothing more needs to be said.
perfect man [ for cutting case ]
I think I may have to use that Cardstock trick for when I decide to mod up my sidepanel, as I (as far as I've been able to sort so far) LITERALLY only have one shot at cutting the sidepanel right, as the Case I have...I've had a real hard time finding a replacement (I knew I should have picked up more than one when they went on boxing week sale 2007)
Thanks for the comments Guys! :)
Hi Jimmy,
I recently got a Nikon D90 which I'm lovin'. I'll looking for a good 2nd hand lens but for now I'm using the 18-70mm kit lens. I'm hoping to find a good deal on the 18-55mm 2.8 DX or something similar.
Project Update:
Nothing today I'm afraid. I'm working on the "slight twist" and hope to have something tangible to show soon. :yepp:
In the meantime, here's a pic of a New York's Time Square I like:

...in keeping with the Cat's Pajamas theme. :ROTF:
Cheers All. :toast:
Hi Charles nicely done... Nikon D90 is a great camera.. I use to have the Nikon D200 with the 18-200mm VR lens (which is a all around great lens for everything) and the Nikon Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 (razor sharp images with this lens) which I used for inside stuff. And another good lens is the micro 105mm lens.. I sent you a email asking about the murderMod TJ07 Serpentine Topgrill for a TJ09 case. Thanks for the reply looking forward to here back from you when you talk with SilverStone.
charles
you should look into the Tokina AT-X 165 PRO DX, its a 16-50mm f/2.8 and its WAY cheaper then nikons 17-55mm (half the price)
i visited the Tokina booth at the CES and talked to one of the reps, all there new lens will included a built-in motor though you wont
have to worry about it.
waiting for an update
Cheers Russ. :)
Very nice shot! I'm definitely looking for that 105mm so I can get some nice shots of my fish. :yepp:
I've had my eyes glued to the local Craigslist for the 17-55mm - I know the good ones go fast unless of course they're asking too much. The 18-200mm looks good but I fear it may be a bit too hefty for what I'm shooting.
I'll contact you again as soon as I get word from Silverstone about the topgrill!
Rocky, that lens looks great! I never even considered a Tokina but after your suggestion and then reading other reviews, I'm a hafta go down to my local camera shop with my D90 and strap one on for a test drive. Cheers! :)
I love that New York picture. Although I must say my favorite part is the review sign that reads, "IMHO, IT'LL MAKE YOU LOL."
Since when is the New York Sun an online forum?
Anyway, I'm tuned in close for updates!
Wow that is great attention to detail there. Big props for doing all that on such an expensive case.
:up::up:Just looked at your last work Charles. Very well done. Very clean and very cool look!:clap:
I know that it's too late now because the cuts are already made but I wish I could get a look of how it would affect if the three cuts would be a little smaller, so that u can't see the aluminium beneath.
I know that u made it that size because of seeing the whole displays from a certain angle. But is it really necessary to see the whole displays until the edges (i don't know how it looks like when the displays are running ore how big the enlightened area is respectively)? If someone looks from an angle >45° the aluminium area at the opposite gets pretty big, because of the distance sidepanel - display.
Would be nice if you can show a picture from >45°. :)
Or has this always been your intention, maybe to create a further contrast like skinnee says? Or isn't it enough contrast while the displays are running?
Any way... it's just impressive to see how much passion someone can put in such a project.:clap::up:
Hey Mr. Miyagi,
Kepp in mind that the aluminum you see is going to be powder-coated black. So in essence (hopefully), you won't be able to really see it, and everything will blend okay.
With that said, Charles, make sure you post plenty of angled pics once it's painted!!!
Alriiiiiighty then.
I must have missed that one. :)
Thanks hiiyah
Charles, this mod looks sooo cool! I really like the whole concept and the way the final product turned out!! Excellent work so far! Can't wait to find out what this twist is going to be :D.
Can just I ask what type of bit you're using in your rotozip? I didn't realize that it was able to cut aluminum! I'd like to do some cutting myself, but was hoping I could mount that kind of bit into my router (I don't have a RZoD:(). Thanks! Keep up the great work!
Mike
Charles,
Update needed!
perfect Mod
I think Charles is taking a well deserved weekend off.
Work on the "sLight Twist" continues. Patience, it won't be long 'till the next update! :D
Have a great weekend all!
Daniel.
