If I receive a 920 as well I will be contacting them for sure. A 920 would suit me fine, but the point is that the rules clearly state the prize is a 965 which has a much higher value. Send me three 920's and that will be fine though

Well that ain't good; I have a feeling that Ubisoft/Intel won't budge about fixing this error if all the grand prizes winners receive a 920i
There are laws concerning online contests requiring both parties to abide by.
Well, I'm quite sure they won't get sured over this issue if they refuse to replace the 920i chips with the prize that the winners were suppose to get.
Yep, what are you going to do?
Lame.
This doesn't look like a core i7 965

I called Intel USA and got an email address for their marketing dept. I'll let you know what they say about this.
edit: received a reply from the Intel France rep.
Quote:
Dear Winner,
Based on winners’ feedback of the core i7 contest, it happens that an internal operational mistake happened during the prize delivery process.
---The order of Core i7 Extreme Edition processors has been changed to Core i7 920.
We want to sincerely apology for this.
We are now in working the process to make sure that you receive the right prize and value you won.
We will keep you informed.
Please call me if you want to have more information.
Best Regards, and please accept our apologies again, as this was not meant to happen.
We are taking all actions to make sure this will not happen again.
ye if i were you i would push for a 965 man, hope the problem gets resolved
Wow... but humans make mistakes - that's life! :D
Sure you all get the right prices soon. My games has still not arrived.
I recieved my copy of Far Cry 2 a or to back. It's really nice for a once to win something but I really don't know what to do with my prize.
Ebay? Frisbee? :D
Any other contests like this? I usually don't win stuff, so it'd be nice to win something..
Its been 2 weeks since i got the email.. still no farcry 2
yeah that 920 deal is'nt right..
but more than likely they are going to send you either
A) Gift Certificate
B) A Check
C) 2 more 920's
D)15 Far Cry 2 Games
BTW... Call that number they gave you slugbug and tell us the "more information" they were claiming to have.
Me thinks more information means fubared; it'll be interesting to see how this turns out.
I received a call from Tom at Intel USA two days ago and was told to call or email back if the Intel France guy did not reply in a timely manner. I think I'll do that right now.
I heard from a fellow Canadian who won a game and got screwed. They shipped it without the proper Customs documents and as a result UPS billed him $32.00. Of course he only found this out after they had delivered it without saying a damn word.
Same deal here as Slugbug...
Won the 965... got a 920.
Normally I'd be plenty happy with a free 920, however the idea of winning a Ferrari and receiving a Yaris is a little flawed.

Couldn't have put it better myself
Although for some reason I doubt it was an accident at all they we all got 920's. I hope Intel USA steps up to the bat and sorts this out for us quickly.
Hi all, registered here, just found this thread on google since I was wondering if this whole thing was a sham. Glad to see I'm not the only one having issues with this, I'm a FarCry 2 winner (Sargeras9), and still haven't gotten my game yet either. Answered the email requesting my personal info weeks ago, maybe it just takes a while for them to ship to the U.S.?
I'm in the same boat -- I would expect any packages shipping from Europe to the U.S. to take somewhere around 6-8 weeks. If we knew what the POSTMARK date was for others, we'd be better able to gauge how soon to expect our games.
Slug -- Do you still have the box they sent it in, and does it show when the label was printed? Also, I wouldn't count on overclocking that 920 much -- it's an EARLY batch 3836A983. The earliest batch that people seemed to consistently overclock well is 3841A... Also, have you contacted Intel U.S., and if so what did they say?
Got an update from the Intel France guy concerning the 965:
Hi,
Sorry!!!
Please be patient.
We are also waiting for the orders approval.
It should be soon.
Thanks & Regards!
Yinqiu
This is promising news... Hopefully the follow through is next.
If this pans out, I'll be a happy camper.

I still haven't opened the 920, but if they don't hurry up I just might have to  I'm still waiting to hear whether I have to return it or not. Tom at Intel USA suggested I not use the 920 until I know.
I received two emails from the french quarters crap but didn't trust it as there were misspellings throughout it as well as they wanted my address and what not which they already had. I already have Far Cry 2 so its not worth it to me to risk sending my info thru the email.
His first language is probably not English so that would explain the spelling mistakes. I won a CPU and never did receive an email asking for my shipping info. I received this from Tom at Intel USA today:
I was under the false assumption that since Intel USA is the world HQ that they would have an interest in hearing how other offices handle promotions :(Quote:
Of course, it's ultimately your decision whether or not you settle for the 920, but since the promotion originated from Intel, France, it also needs to be resolved by them.
North American Support does not have the ability to correct this prize award.
Intel France may still send us CPU winners the 965, but after reading that email from Tom I'm beginning to have my doubts.
